It's not always dogs for that matter. Folks have this bias against felines because they don't wag their tails and get all up in their owners face when they come home. Then again, the internet likes cats a lot though.

i lost my old cat about a year ago now, she always greeted me when i got home from anywhere, missed me when i had to leave for a few days, cats are mercinary, yes, but they are so so lovely, and i wouldnt have it any other way.
