Yes, yes they do.

That's why I hate warm spells in December...it takes away the christmassy smell and kills the mood.

lol, they totally do! Course... I hate it when you're in the middle of a CORNFIELD and it smells like a lake in Canada O.o lol, I normally don't say anything though, it's just a thought XD I love spring smell .-. 'is like... warm and wet and living *.*
