Well it's the beginning of the new school semester...well it's going to be February soon so it's not really the beginning beginning! Anyway! Right to the point of the journal. I finally have become employed with the school district here in Baytown and Clear Lake areas! I'm a substitute teacher for both districts and have actually taken a liking to the Middle School age students! They are waaay more fun to teach than high school! It's like watching the show "Kids Say the Darndest Things" for 8 hours a day 5 days a week! Another reason i like this age group is because i can poke a little fun at them when they get all silly and they just love it because i play along with their antics. As long as it's not too disruptive to the class! I absolutely LOVE when that "one kid" tries to get under my skin...I don't rattle easily or hardly at all with students because...well what's the point in getting upset? They are just kids! They aren't purposely being rude, they're just testing the waters!

I also scored 5 kids for private lessons on the French Horn so i'm super excited about that! I also might have a full time career come August with a middle school here! The head band director is retiring and she wants me to cover quite a bit of her sick days before she retires! She has about 40 to her name lol. It'll play into my advantage if those kids know me already, by the time the interview for the assistant position comes about.

Anyway, that's what's going on right now! I'll share my teacher stories here for entertainment! Should prove to be quite amusing!
