One thing to keep an eye out for is to see if they keep asking you or telling the same things over and over again.

I don't like dating sites anyway. They are all the same. The more mainstream ones that I tried for shits and giggles are pretty similar to what you described. The only difference being that they actually allow you to read the messages that you get, there is just no way to reply or contact someone yourself. And if someone left their contact data like email or phone number in the message they are conveniently filtered out and censored.

The only sites that seem to be worth a damn are the bigger chat communities. https://www.planetromeo.com/ is a good example for this, it's a gay site though. They let you register, you can read and send messages and even send and receive pictures of other users. They have a pay model as well, but that is just for enabling nude photos of other users and other optional stuff X3

Ive been on furfling for a year or so, I get the random bot and crap.. But i have meet three people.. Two i still talk to daily, and other turned out to be as a mental case.. But you just have to weed out the messages.

Also if you try to say any other website or chat program in a Privet message its gets blocked and turned into *****. BUt it sounds like you are havign bot trouble if no one is answering beyond that.

the strange thing about FurryMate is when i tried to ask someone i was exchanging messages with if they used skype or other messengers, the site censored the words skype and messenger o.O not only that, but when i tried again, using sky.pe instead of skype, it censored sky? very odd occurrence. Sadly the person i had been chatting with stopped responding.

It both is and isn't a scam. I'm sure there are real people that actually use it, but they are few and far between. I joined furfling and had the same issue. Tons and tons of messages, but had to pay to read them. Once I figured that out I knew most, if not all, those messages were just bots. They create lots and lots of profiles, and swamp you with tantalizing messages, to tempt you into paying for the ability to read them. Just think about it, what kind of legitimate "free" dating service requires you to pay money to communicate with other people? If you were incredibly lucky, maybe 1% out of all the messages you received were from an actual person, and just a bot or employee.

All dating sites are scams. The main reason is that even the ugliest women can find someone who wants them for a variety of reasons. This means that there are very few women who feel the need to date online while there is a surplus of men who don't fit the preferred guy mold. Don't believe me? Men under 6 ft height cannot donate sperm but any women can donate her eggs. Google it.

Yeah, I got the 3 months as well and Its been awful. Same as you I stopped getting messages and the few who actually did respond stopped only a few messages in. It really is a scam. But ive had better luck on sites like OKcupid though. At least ive met a few friends there. Honestly, I think the best option is to just go out into the world and just do what you like to do and see who else likes it.

Pounced is the way to go, dude. It can be for friends, fun, or more since it's a general meet-new-people site. Hell, I've got a new friend\roommate thanks to that site, and I've met some new people in the area because of it. You just have to take your chances encountering the creepers and sociopaths of the fandom too, haha.

I never shelled out for FurryMate and seeing this makes me glad I haven't.

I know for a fact this is a scam... I've used proxy's to change my location. And the people whom have messaged me on the site, suddenly change their locations to match that of my proxy.
I don't see everyone on the site from my home town suddenly deciding to up and move to Italy, or anywhere else in Europe, as being realistic.

That said, there are some real people on the site... but finding them is not exactly easy. You more or less just have to hope they slipped some sort of off site contact information into their profiles. My profile skillfully contains my skype name, displayed and labeled in such a way that the site doesn't censor it.

Side Note: OK Cupid has been a great free dating site and has worked out fairly well for me.

Naturally. All pay dating sites pull the same scams. For me, I barely have profiles on either--but I keep getting supposed messages from people--but then, surprise! You gotta pay.

It's B.S. So much so that I almost advocate OK Cupid or something free, and just maybe mentioning furry fan-ness in your profile so people who don't have a crazy aversion to our interests could be like "Well, you still seem interesting!" Who knows, they might even like it?

This is the norm for dating sites: It is safe to assume that any site that uses a pay wall to read/reply to messages is going to generate fake messages to people who do not have paid accounts.

I checked one of them out a while back, and if I remember correctly before creating an account all the splash pages had the word FREE plastered all over them, and it wasn't until you created an account that they tried to dollar fuck you for every single God damned feature on the site.

Also, as far as I've ever seen, most furries who are interested in meeting someone are at least willing to do so in a public place.

So you have furries looking to meet other furries telling you they can't or won't or don't really want to meet you anywhere, public or not.

How much more of a scam can you get? You're probably getting the equivalent of phone sex... except without the sex. Just people telling you they're furries and talking to you because they think you're so lonely a voice on the phone is going to be good enough for you.

100% scam. I tried it when it first started being advertised. They have ridiculous filtering for their messages blocking common messenger names as a way to force you to use their service.

So far I've had success with ONE person talking out of that site. And nope, I'm absolutely not paying to read messages.

I can't speak for anyone else but I HAVE actually met real people through furrymate. Made at least two buddies through there, in fact. But I can say with some certainty that I do seem to get more frequent messages when I'm NOT subscribed than when I am, and I do think the "pay to read your messages" model is ridiculous. I also hate their automatic censorship system, which is designed to block you from giving anyone any off-site contact information. Words like "furaffinity," "Google," "Skype," and even "email" and "phone" are automatically censored. Just how they expect anyone to actually start a damn relationship through them is beyond me...

Do people really expect things like FurFling and whatnot to not be A). Stupid, B). Scams? I naturally expect things that blatantly advertise with sex, as in, banner ads with some degree of nudity saying things like, "want to [ughh] murr?" or "Have sex now, click here!", to be A, B, or both. There are obviously some exceptions, but not really for most non-porn things.

I made a profile that says I don't use this site and it's a dead profile and I still get messages like crazy. I've lab led it as a scam. Haven't found a dating site that is for the fandom that really work's. Normally just found its easier to get someone I find on another site to get them to become a furry Then try to find a gal that's on a furry dating site.

One thing I learned about furries is that they really are not as out going as they appear. This is especially evident when ever you take one outside their comfort zone. If it isn't a furry convention, a meet and greet for furries, or in the middle of SL where they can hide behind a computer. Chances for that "dinner in a public place." you can kiss out the window because it will not happen.

Well it it sure is scam i mean i blocked every single american person trying to contact me via the site.

1. i had contact information in my profile for several things. one of being steam and shits for everybody literaly.
2. i have nothing against american people. some american people contacted me via my other information and we had nice chats.
3. if you happen to block a realy fresh message the site tells you " you cant block an admin account" so the admin creates fake accounts to bait everyone. and the actual real people will message you via those contact informations.

Conclusion: the sites are ok to at least HAVE an account and log in at times to get into the fresh login pool for people to see. and thats about it most is scam i got.thou by chance i actualy got my current person i am dating mostly postiv from furfling.thats no indication of "this site is better thou"

Heres the thing with this site. The way it works sometimes is some of these accounts that look like girls/guys etc, theyll have a name that is very identical to another and the same location for each one. for example: a name like RazzleSparkles from some location, another account will have that identical name and location. Those accounts are people who are paid by the side for paid members who message them, which is why when you ask if they have telegram or discord, they will instantly change the subject and refuse to switch, because they will lose money if they do. Also furfling is dead, its been that way for 5 years, so its rare youll find a normal person on there. Ive also noticed most messages from suspicious accounts take atleast a day to send, which shows theres some kind of routine to it.

In short, either use Pounced or howlr, but pounced is probably shut down right now.

So far 4 has sent me messages, all but 1 refused to use Telegram or Discord.

One showed hes from Canada and finding out the site is located in Canada and the guy
lied about saying he was not from Canada and said hes from some where else and said he will
stay there if i wanted to chat.

So it was weird that all of them refused to chat and want to keep me chatting on furrymate which requires
money paywall in order to see the messages.

After mentioning telegram and discord, they were never to be seen again.

There was one though and it was a 19 female who said she was about to not use furrymate anymore.

I contacted the sites admins or owners and i told them about their bugs and they ignored my message
and removed my recurring 3-month subscription but i was able to still keep the remaining membership i have left but
removed me once it expires so it shows they do not give a crap about you, and just want your money. They
did nothing to the site since 2012 which the timing of this message was 10 years ago.

A decade. Its buggy, it drops your DNS, the thumbnail editor doesnt work properly even though it says
the thumbnail has been successfully cropped but it did nothing.

I really wish people would leave that trash hole and i wish i can get my money back.

Funny thing is they dont accept paypal, they have you use your Debit or Credit card to avoid
refunding your money.

Tried to find my honey badger bestie a furry gal to mingle with and we tried multiple locations/sites/apps for a few months to no real avail but furrymate is definitely egregious.
8 months, with breaks in sub to test behaviors.

The profiles are definitely good at recalling context and conversations and showing genuine conversation traits, but any attempt to move the conversation to another platform like discord/telegram/facebook/text/etc is a dead end. Out of 78 conversations over the months, many were pretty solid small talk, some took weeks to respond or waited until a day after your sub lapsed then your inbox would blow up over the next week with unreadable messages.

One person actually agreed to go off site and had a god conversation but dropped off due to her own strong opinions. Several profiles took offended responses when casually offered other contacts to stay in touch.

Locations of profiles were seen changing to our local city (47miles away due to how our remote area works)

The site is better for small talk and having a penpal than gaining anything meaningful, so yes definitely a scam! Quite predatory like many other dating sites preying on desperate lonely guys for sure. Your likelihood of finding another guy there is probably exponentially higher but not ideal due to site restrictions off subscription. Still up to their old antics, so nothing has changed.

Even with a mostly empty profile, some rather attractive (and naked) women were sending me messages. I also didn't know you have to buy premium in order to read messages either. Some kind of paid feature is understandable, but the site is just built to milk your wallet.

Not just milk your wallet but also mess with your head, but also to downgrade you, keep you single and hopeful and hungry forever.
Look into who their investors are and who those investors are affiliated with.

It's one helluva rabbit hole.

I paid 3$ for the 3 day trial to read messages after letting them build up for 6 months. Every single one of them wanted me to add them on discord. So I did. All the conversations followed the same script almost like they were rehearsed. Tldr: all that came from these conversations is them trying to get money out of me so they can give me a ref sheet since I dont have one. Anywhere from 200$ to 350$. And they wanted the money upfront. I didn't meet a single person from there. A lot of them were from Preston in the UK. An alarming amount actually. Coincidence? I think not. I would almost certainly argue that furfling is a complete scam after this experience. Or if it is real people, they are just trying to make money. A lot of the ref sheet examples people sent me were clearly AI and if they weren't, they were garbage quality. Lastly. After my 3 day trial expired the messages started flooding in again. However, while my trial was active. I only got 2 or 3 messages.

It gets even worse when they contact you outside.
I've had a FULL YEAR of TERRIBLE "artists" contacting me and hammering with requests to buy (BAD) commissions for no less than $150 (usually asking for $450)

They all talk like they're using the same script, like abusively-pushy bots implanted into human brains.

The ARTISTFRIEND is always overpriced and always mediocre.
Every artist here who puts out that quality of art (my art-muse is MIA thanks to FurFling) does it as gift art or practice to get better.

I sincerely wish someone would do us all a favor and take that !@#$ site out for good.
