I am guilty of doing this so many times, it's not even funny.

Me: Wow, thank you for give me a slot! You rarely show up and I just had to get a commission from you!
Artist: No problem! So what do you want?
Me: Um... I'll get back to you on that. Give me 5 minutes.

OR

Me: Would you like to draw this animal or this one?
Artist: You choose. It's YOUR commission, after all.
Me: Right...

So for anyone I have gotten a commission from before and experienced this, sorry. I'll try not to waffle next time.
