Ziggurat and Rogue-like Games!

Hey there! Today I wanna talk a bit about games!
Those of you who know me better may know that I really love games! The ones I've played the most are probably all listed on my profile. Unfortunately, I've been more the type to play a LOT of a few games I really like rather than a ton of different titles, so I have missed out on a fair number of great ones over the years... u.=.u I wish I had time to play and enjoy them all.
A genre that I really seem to enjoy, though, is rogue-like games! The biggest one for me has been The Binding of Isaac (unless you count Diablo games as rogue-like!), but just recently I tried a game called Ziggurat, and I really like that, too. My main complaints about it are that it's really short, doesn't seem to have much variety in bosses, and...it's First Person, which I really don't prefer--but on the whole I really like it! I have done something like 15 attempts and only beat it twice on Normal, with two different characters (each character seems to be satisfyingly unique in my experience so far). Both times that I won I was feeling really confident. My more recent success I feel like I would have had to not be trying to fail...

Those who know the game might understand why from this screenshot. :3c
I mostly just wanted to share my appreciation for those two titles and the Rogue-like genre of games...but! I was also wondering if there have been any other really amazing rogue-like games floating around that have escaped my notice! Do any of you have recommendations? ^=^'? Please and thank you! <33

FA+

Faster than Light is good, as is rogue legacy
Azure dreams is also one of my personal favorites (ps1 game)
There's another called Baroque which i've really been meaning to give another try... it's pretty out there though
I actually do own FTL. I tried to play it once, though, and it didn't seem very approachable. The ship concept is sort of a turnoff for Dessy. :c
You're not the only person to mention Rogue Legacy. That is interesting to me. However, the other person said "it's a platformer and not truly roguelike either sooo." Hmm...
I have also heard of Azure Dreams, which is a good sign. Unfortunately, I no longer have a console I can play it on, and I'm not big on emulators. :c
Baroque I'm not sure I've heard of. "Out there" isn't necessarily a bad thing though. :3
the secondd one is super great though.
If you play it a bit more, you might even get as good as me :P
# It wasn't luck :P
In any case, as I said, I'm on a forced hiatus now anyway -_-
I don't really play many others at all though x3;
Rogue Legacy kinda but it's a platformer and not truly roguelike either sooo.
Also, I almost wanna play the original Rogue some day, to kinda pay homage to the sire and namesake of what is likely my favourite game genre. u3u
Though it's kinda puzzly too the way it works.
It's stupidly fun though.
The other game thats like ziggurat is lichdom battlemage. though it too is first person. (also on steam.)
you can also mix and match spells which is fun. ^_^

It's good to know another person I like who has been enjoying it. I really hope they add to it. I think it has a lot of room to grow and become truly amazing. ^=^ It's already quite nice.
And its Isaac in The Chest.
i know that ???/Blue Baby is the Final boss of The Chest and Isaac is fought in The Cathedral, i've played it since Wrath of the Lamb
As for the actual Ending clips? Hell, I never watch those. No one plays Isaac for the story. >3>';
And yeah, no Mega Satan start, only on the save file.
I'm glad such a tasty treat seems to like this game as much as I do~<3
so.. thank you for sharing the word.. ^.^
The Nightmare of Druaga (PS2) was the only one I played into that much. It adds another challenge on top of the standard rogue-like elements. Over time, your light source fades until you can barely even see. You need to sacrifice items to restore it, but it does at least give you a use for items that would otherwise be junk. Taking too long on a floor also causes unkillable enemeis called Will O' Wisps to appear and potentially ruin your day. That's made even worse by the fact that you have to find a key on each floor to progress.
Thankfully you're given an escape item every time you enter a dungeon, so it's never left up to the game to decide when you get to leave (or die trying to find such an item).
Oh, and never reset the game. Ishtar will give you worse than Mr. Resetti could ever hope to.
I'd say to check out some videos and see if it seems interesting to you. It's available on ebay for pretty cheap prices.
PMMM Portable is a roguelike/visual novel hybrid, but you'd have to emulate it, and I'm not sure how far along the translation patch is (the menus are translated, but I'm not sure about the actual story).
