The CBC has a tradition of portraying the current government warts and all, no matter which party is in power. I believe them when they talk about politics. The alternatives are CTV and Global. If CTV put a conservative spin on their news casts, (notice the small "c" to denote neoconservatist political philosophy), Global is in the Conservative's back pocket, they flaunt their spin. (Notice the capital C to denote the political party; it's a Canuck thing.) If they manage to sell-off the CBC, I'll have no idea what's going on in government and not much idea what's going on around town.
