Thanks to those who've done both with my little "gallery" so far; I haven't gone off to do 'shouts' to those who've watched/faved me, although I suppose I should get into the habit! (FA's "culture" is somewhat new to me in actual practice.)
I may see whether I can get old existing illustrations for my stories uploaded here (this is easier said than done, since some don't exist in digital form, and I'd need permission from the artists regardless), and/or get new art done. This is somewhat easier said than done both in terms of available funds and finding artists who are willing to do such work (and right for a given story), but we'll see what happens down the road.

At any rate, that makes it seem even more pointless to thank someone for a fave, assuming the person doesn't otherwise comment on the piece.
Yeah, there are folks who go out of their way to say “don’t thank me for choosing a favorite from your gallery”, sometimes rather, er, emphatically. There are others who equally emphatically say “I won’t thank you for choosing a favorite from my gallery”.
I don’t feel strongly about it one way or another; I’m willing to thank folks for it. It seems a polite and nearly cost-free thing to do.
