I don't know if it's just me or if it's something I'm doing. Perhaps maybe its a culmination of things that I'm doing and random events but it seems to me like the Fandom in general has been getting an even worse reputation than it has in the last three years instead of improving. In the last month I've run across ads, new TV shows, Internet videos and people all with nothing good to say about the fandom. Even from the people I would least expect it from. And it's not like the typical eew hell no furries because everyone else has heard a rumor from a friend of a friend and the stigma but more like a dissociation with the fandom because a fear of being labled and an undeniable knowledge of what the fandom is turning into and just avoiding it all together. I am aware of the sexual content that IS everywhere in the community. Artists I love and didn't suspect of making anything like that yet do it hasn't changed my view on them or who they are but added to their character. I'm not that into it, honestly i don't disagree nor do i agree with it and personally I believe in leaving certain things alone because it doesn't really matter what you're into but what matters most is how you control yourself, how you execute your actions. It matters who you are as a person whether you believe yourself to be human or whatever you make of yourself and how well you interact with the world around you. I've found some of the art to be very good sexual or not and a lot of people both tolerable and immensely intolerable within this fandom and outside it but it won't shake what I believe in. I'm a furry for myself and nobody else, I'm not in it for the sex or the parties, but for the expression through functional art and the love of animals. The endless dream of animals being more like us than we can ever think possible, and the imaginative world I've built in conjunction to what I made of furries from day one. If I could give it all up and start over I would never agree to it because furry is what I make of it, Not someone else and it is nothing to be ashamed of. So to the world who still cant get it together i say screw you!. Because I'm happy with this and I'm sticking with it because it brings out the best of me.
