What a long day that was. I left my house at 445a to go to work in Arlington. From there I left to meet up with a coworker about 20 miles away in granite falls. After I visited for nearly an hour I began the trek to Anacortes. Curiously I had a dream of the area I drove through without ever having gone to Anacortes before. All a bit of a surprise on its own, I continued through then onto deception pass which has to be the best part of the trip strictly for the stunning views then the blueberry fritter and the other fur friends I met up with later on. From deception pass I began heading southeast to Coupeville where the ferry would depart minutes after I boarded. Again another stunning view of the salish sea combined with the dark orange yellow hues of sulfur on the horizon dotted with ships and marine life from birds in the sunset and the occasional seal poking up for a quick peek. A 30 minute sail from Coupeville to port Townsend, a beautiful little town with some of the best pizza I ever had and again more views and marine life than one could ever want. I pressed on to Bremerton where I would stop to see friends I haven't seen for months. After that I made my way home back in bonney lake ending my trip at about midnight.
Think of it I nearly made a 24 hour day tripper of a Friday. Got to see a huge chunk of western Washington and made a gigantic ring circuit of the Puget sound. A much needed break from life. Now if only I couldve stayed.
