So, how bad down your way? 18 inches (45cm) in far southern Maine/coastal New Hampshire, but as the storm is further south in the Gulf of Maine than originally forecasted, we got squat up here in Augusta. Forecast: 2 ft (60cm). Reality, maybe 5 inches (13cm) when it's all said and done. We remain under a blizzard warning due to the potential for high winds and blowing snow as the storm continues eastward.

I know you're from the southwest and this weather is getting you down. Have you ever considered taking up a winter activity such as snowshoeing? Check into the local REI stores. They rent equipment (so you don't have to spend $100 up front on a good pair should you decide it's not for you) and could probably hook you up with someone/group to introduce you to snowshoe hiking. Properly layered clothing, a pair of snowshoes and you can get back out into nature despite 6 firetrucking feet (1.8m) of snow on the ground. It's one of the ways I normally cope with the winter weather, though I haven't been able to get out this year--just too exhausted all the time from all the shoveling...and too cold with the windchill. Hopefully, that will change next weekend when I hope to go visit a winter camporee. Yes, scouts up this way camp year-round (with proper gear). I don't have the gear anymore to spend the night outdoors, but I'll go visit during the day.

On a eu une journée de neige en France il y a un mois de cela. Sinon, rien du tout. Et quand je dis "journée de neige" je pense plutôt à "un pouce de neige sur le sol". Rien de bien excitant.

Mon enfance me manque !

Je suis curieux quel est la quantité moyenne du neige dans les regiones différentes de France. Je pense que n'est pas a l'extrème que nous avons en Boston. xD

Vraiment pas beaucoup. Je ne me souviens pas avoir dépassé les dix centimètres de neige partout ou j'ai pu aller. Le froid n'est plus vraiment intense en France, mais peut-être est-ce un moment passager ; le climat fluctue beaucoup.
