yay...food poisoning

Below will be tmi.. so .. be warned... or something
I don't get why people say "how do you know its *whatever*" when you tell them you have something. My boss did it, he asked if i were okay, and i said kinda.. i have food poisoning and he asked how do i know?
Well.. Lets see... I ate food that tasted odd.. then 10 hours later, i wake up and my ass is exploding, then i take a shower to ease the pain, then not even 3 mins after the shower, i put tums in my mouth, took em out, then threw up until my whole body hurt. This was about 5:30am, and it's now 2:30pm and i still feel horrid..
To top off the nausea and pain, i'm also cramping/bloating from my period.. I threw up one more time at 9ish, but since then, i'm just in pain and feel bad, nausea is still there.. but lesser and i've only drank water .. about 8 bottles so far. When i get home, im going to sleep.
"why dont you go home now?" well.. there is no one to cover me, fridays and mondays are horribly busy. this one especially because of the cold front coming, so i do the important work, and then nap off and on in my chair. Which the owner said to do since i'm feeling like crap.
TLDR: I feel like crap cause of food poisoning and period, and i'm stuck at work for 3.5 more hours

Oh dear, I've had to put up with the "how do you know its" routine too. It means 'I don't want to believe you so I'm accusing you of making it up'.
The same sort of person says "why." as an accusation,
Me: That computer has been hacked.
"Why."
Me: How should I know. Grrr...
