Nearly lost my life today
This was some final destination shit.
So a friend called me from the University asking if I could take him to the post office to mail off a letter to the school he was transferring to since the University post office was shut down.
On our way to and from the school we had a few slips and slides but nothing too crazy. On the way back though there was a three car wreck on the bridge coming from the school.
After I drop him off I head back down over the bridge. Everyone was going 35-40 down it while having enough space in between cars. However, when I got back to the place where the wreck was (in the far right lane) the guy in front of me despite being in the left lane threw on his breaks and came to an almost complete stop. I freaked out and hit the breaks which sent my car skidding toward the guard rails to the right. I couldn't remember if I was supposed to turn into or away from the skid so I decided to turn away from it. My car spun to the left and I drifted past the median and into oncoming traffic. THANK GOD the cars coming saw what was happening and had time to stop as I was coming into their lanes.
With everyone in front and behind me stopped I backed up and straightened out into my lane then proceeded as if nothing happened.
The only funny thing to come out of it were the cars behind me staying probably 10 car lengths away from me for the rest of the way up the bridge.
Home safely now.. but still shaking.
