I finally made it back to home after the ice storm that froze Dallas and extended the convention an extra day.
This year was the year I joined staff. I worked the afternoon shift in the video game room and ran errands for Con Ops. It was actually a lot of fun to see behind the scenes. I am ready to join again next year even though I am a little tired.
I met up with Crys the Hyrbid <icon:taillone>, Daravel <icon:daravel>, Creature <icon:creatureundertaker>, Kyousuke <iocn:kyousuke> and a newcomer this year, Diego, on Thursday and had a good time hanging out. The girls found Diego's tickle spots by the end of night one and the poor maned wolf never had a chance. Dinner was at the Magic Time Machine and was delicious as always.
Friday, the con began and I started working my butt off to impress the existing staff members. I think I did okay, I certainly kept up with them. I bought a badge from the wonderful RedCoatCat and found a few gifts for some of my friends back home. Dinner was a late night run to In-n-Out. I need to get more burgers next time.
Saturday was much the same. I picked up the badge, found some really cool jewelery and I joined a huge group of 25 for dinner and a Roman Orgy at Magic Time Machine.
Sunday was the last day for the con, I won two pieces at the auction and helped tear down the video game room. All eyes were glued to the weather broadcasts as a nasty cold snap hit Dallas. We all arranged to stay a little longer.
Monday turned into the extended con day. Being proper furries, we made the best of it and had a party and played games while waited for the ice to thaw enough to head home.
I made it home around 5pm today and have been working at getting caught up on my daily life since. I'm ready for next year. Please, let there be good news by then.
