I tried my hand a bit at it with my recent pictures, but I'm not 100% happy with them.

I only want to be able to do something simple and quick, nothing major.

I usually just paint on multiple layers with a color picker and palette. It helps to divide things into different layers if I don't want to ruin a piece. Other than that. Its just looking at photos until something comes up. :)
