I must call upon furry wisdom.
1) How does one ensure that a started book is finished? Any tips to avoid loosing track/getting bored?
2) Why is fizzy water always so much fizzier feeling after eating icecream?

2. Probably because the mouth is more sensitive because of the cold of the ice cream.
2. Perhaps. or maybe it is the contrast between smooth and prickling...
2) While there's an increase in sensation where the mouth is cold - try holding a bit of water ice in your mouth and then add fizzy water to verify the difference in sensation - there's also a chemistry reason: Sugar. Grab a glass of fizzy water and pop a tiny bit of ice cream in. See how those bubbles form (CO2 coming out of solution) around the ice cream? Sugar is one of the things that causes CO2 to come out of solution, and it'll do the same thing in your mouth when you've got sugars in your mouth.
but then it should be the same after eating other sweets too.
Gosh, I did not expect such a precise answer to my question. Thank you haha
2.) Yeah there's some science behind it, but the point is that it's a fun sensation, right?
2) Yes! wetdryvac has given a wonderful explanation of it all above.
