My animation entry got a very low score at VASE.
I put so much more effort in it than I did in last year's entry that made it to state...
I don't know, I just feel disappointed and discouraged.

It's definitely the judge. You can't please them all. I have the exact same experience with music competitions. One judge says you're really good and the next one isn't impressed at all. They all come from different teachings and have different standards and whatnot. So don't be discouraged!
