So it didn't go well huh?

It was ok, but super boring majority of the time.
It was so empty at one point I left my table, display out and chatted with some other artists who were also oretty bored.
I did make a few sales/commissions but for the time spent doing nothing I would have prefered to go outside. It was so super nice out today. Or drawing at home with my music playing or a movie on.

You know what I mean? Sometimes the money isn't worth it! I did meet a few cool people but boy was I ever bored a lot of the time. Ended up doodling my own character

I think Rainfurest is in your area. Maybe try that one next time. I know that con is getting really big. The weather here was nice today too, maybe not so much for the next couple days. :p

Actually someone else suggested that to me. Its a maybe as its a longer way to travel for a person with almost 0 exp in artist alley

Hey buddy, if you want to go to RF, we could take you down, and I know a lot of other good people out your way who'll be going as well.

That's pretty much what artist's alleys at really small cons can be like; it's better to have a couple people with you so you can at least get out and do fun things by switching shifts. :)

Yeah, the new set up they had didn't work well. Thats what a lot of the dealers and artist who had gone for previous years told me as well.
I would consider RF but not for a few years time. For now I think I will work on my art skills and save some money considering my recent luck. I would consider something like FanFest, I think that might be more my style.

I honestly found the dealers den/artist alleys pretty underwhelming this year, and WTF was it with being split into to. Most of my time in the dealers then was spent talking to a guy about batteries...

It was really terrible imo, many agreed.

artist alley will be changing, and any opinions i will take.

the reason for having both artist alley, and dealers den was to have more dealers tables. it was something new we tried, and something we saw did not work.
we also had quite a few dealers back out at the very last minuet. thats another reason it may have felt underwhelming.
artist alley was also applying that day.
this will be changing. it was something new, and pre reg is looking as a better idea.
no wifi, well that should be changing too. there will be talk with the IT people ^_^

i am sorry your experience was not a good one. and i hope you ill give us at least one more chance.

Sure I'll do that later, my main concern for artist alley tables is that you should have had some that people could register and reserve for each day, the small room should have had the drop ins such as myself.

i am planning a hybrid system, one where people can pre-reg tables, and have some tables for drop ins ^_^

That would make sense. I was pretty upset I wasnt able to register for sat. I almost said f it, but went anyways. ..

i have seen complaints about no pre regging for tables.

vancoufur emails are in process of changing because we were all fired, and then those wanting to join again were re-hired. not sure if my email is working yet, but i can be reached at my gmail ^_^
