BEWARE - Suitmaker

General
So in April 2014 I commissioned Furensics studios for a suit. A digitigrade fullsuit with extra padding and stompy feet of my character "Chaos" for around 1500 usd. I paid the whole thing off as fast as I could, 1300 of it being RIGHT AWAY, thinking I was being good. Shouldn't have done that. So this was supposed to be started in september 2014. It has YET to be started. And what's worse is, there are lots of people before me in their queue. They completely ignore messages and doesn't give a shit about updating their customers. I tried to get a refund, as i was entitled to a 70% refund by the TOS i agreed to when commissioning and paying but NOPE. They changed the TOS sometime after and now apparently it's that one that applies. Am I overreacting or is this some fucked up service? I don't think I'll ever see that suit or a refund and paypal can't help me. I now have huge medical costs and a lack of 1500 usd I'll never see again - could have bought a wheelchair for that. I'm a fucking moron.
Please spread the word about them...don't want anyone to happen in the same situation

Therefore... legally, nothing has changed. There is a binding contract, and it is controlled by the original terms of service. That is American law. If she breaks that agreement, then you have reason to sue to recover the money that you've already paid.
Hope that helps!
Thanks a lot for your input, feels good to hear
I'll spread the word on Twitter, linking to this journal.
Other than that, I guess you can keep bothering them. Or with the lack of better words; give them hell.
Well yeah ruin their reputation forever
"That is why I've made the decision to close commissions indefinitely starting January 1st, 2015.
I will continue to work on my current commission queue, obviously! But please know, there will be some inevitable delays. I am, however, canceling my 3 month hiatus to work on EXCLUSIVELY fursuits. So I am hoping to get everything done a bit early.
I cannot promise specific deadlines- but know that I am working every single day to get suits out to y'all!"
It still doesnt make right that they not wanna give you a refund or simply ignoring customers. If there career or life changes for some personal reason, its their responsibility to make sure their current customers are taken care for in a responsible way. Either keep them updated or give them their refunds if they don't plan to spend time on the projects anymore.
I hope everything is gonna work out for you! I think 6 months for a big project, is acceptable but if they don't even keep you updated I totally understand you are worried. Just try to keep contact them and get answers!
Dun give up on your money tough, that would simply be stealing..maybe their is a way to ask paypal to get your refund cause they didn't made & send the product you paid for?
I've been experiencing the same with my sewing projects...I delayed my orders too cause of my move, art and such but I always kept my customers updated.
You can probably not do anything about it, but I think it's better to do something than to do nothing.... I'm really really sorry this happened to you. You're like... The last person who needs this. Tell me if I can help you in any way, alright?
Unless you magically can get the money back so i can use it for an useable wheelchair (unable to get the kind i need from the healthcare) or my sdit.
I made a post on it on twitter linking to your journal. I hope it get's retweeted!
I'd go any route you can to get your refund; they have absolutely no right to keep it and would be laughed out of court.
They posted on their Facebook page on Tuesday saying they'd get to answering messages today, so we'll see how that goes.
You are correct in every way. When you are
going to commission something such as a fursuit
of such amount of money you should go on a payment plan!
No matter if you have all of the money or not!
A payment plan ensures a safe relationship between
customer and supplier!
They should refund you in full! And give any supplies they
bought with your money to you!
I would contact them, or try getting in contact with a legal
service... It happens a lot that paypal can't help.
Sorry this had to happen to you ;-;
Good luck with your medical issues, I hope you can get help ;o;
You agreed to the old terms, but not the new terms (Assuming i read things correctly). So i would imagine that the new terms don't technically apply to you.
As you said above is response to Warped_Reality "Don't know how effective it is when I'm in another country though.."
Last i checked, there are laws that apply internationally.
I haven't read any of their updates/posts to see exactly what they're "saying" so i can say so much myself.
I wish you the best of luck with this on getting it resolved in your favor.
And thank you so much!
As far as I know, the last post about them was just about a lost contact and folks were being patient about it. I think it's best they are updated with what news you have.
