Peeve I can have for writers. {RANT}

Is when they portray a character as a protagonist, then after a long trail of stories... post something in which that character does something immoral as devouring a innocent because that character had a hankering for human? And the human friend that they have acts more like it's a small deal and more of an annoyance. What the fuck? Considering that the victim was a intern, means they had some time to interact with the characters for a short while. That the fact there was no bond formed within that time, that they are an item and nothing more sickens me. Both the human and her dragon friend are disgusting pieces of shit.
Just before people judge me... after all this is vore fiction I'm reading. In the various chapters it's revealed the predator can do non-fatal with their human allies and friends. And that they form strong bonds with humans. The villains most of the time end up on the fatal end of things. And then of course there are the times when the dragons do monstrous things to innocents. And they explain and do it in such an illogical ways it makes my brain hurt. This is why I can't stand vore writers most of the time. Now I feel like crap for posting the positive comments to this person several times, wished I could take those back.
Am I angry? Yea. (Time wasted in investing myself) Will this be the last time I will be disappointed in someone? No.
maybe I should get back into writing again.

Even nonfatal vore is not something that shouldn't ever be treated casually. What, the predator just one day decided "Hm, that sounds kinky, I think I'll try to learn how to do that" and did?
This is half the reason damn near everything I've written has involved some super-secretive group like the Predatory Slave Liberation or the Special Associates; Because a fetish is far too shallow a justification for the kind of time, money and/or effort that would have to go into making such a thing possible.
Don't get me wrong; I can accept characters with a vore/endo fetish, but only if there had been some much greater motivation beforehand; if something REALLY required that they learn how to do that and they only started doing it casually after it became second nature to them.
Having the character just say "Hey, guess what, I can endo" makes it feel like the author has no patience for storytelling and just wants to get to the smut. And if all I wanted was some quick smut, I'd browse the artwork.
Mind you that I'm only stressing on endo-preds so much because you already covered my beef with fatal preds. Again, they need to have a damn good reason to do what they do, because anything simple like "I'm hungry" or "this turns me on" just makes the predator come across as a dick. Which, unless it's building up to a turnabout scenario, I can't stand (because, again, if all I wanted was a random grab-n-gulp, I'd browse the artwork).
Stories command a much more serious time investment from your audience than artwork, ergo you need to give your audience a much more interesting reason to follow you than quick smut. If the entire story can be summed up in a single frame of artwork, you're missing the point.
For me vore is a way for two characters to show their affections for one another. I just never liked cruel vore or vore in which a sentient person is treated like an object and is killed for the purpose for food.
I'm more pissed at the fact that I'm lured in with the non-fatal, then the predator does a 180 and does fatal on a complete stranger. I get pissed and annoyed so much, because when I thought the character had morals when they really did not. To me they are no longer a protagonist, but an asshole.
I share your frustration over face/heel turns too. I don't have a complete aversion to them -- I'll tolerate it if the author provides some damn good motivation to do so and makes it perfectly clear that they, and their characters, are well aware of just what an extreme and/or horrible thing they are about to do is. But few writers ever do this, because they're charging full-speed into the smut and/or because they don't want their audience to feel guilty getting their jollies off to it.
So I say again to all aspiring writers out there: Nobody committing themselves to a long read is only looking for a quick spooge.
Btw, as a fan of macro-themed stories and art I have the same problem. Its very hard to find anything where the macro isn't just destructive and stompy. And even the ones where the character is very well-developed and likeable soon devolve into destruction and killing. Its kinda creepy actually
However, I draw the line when the author basically begins to yell out the tropes/biases as the story progresses. Like the Humans in the story ALWAYS being immoral, no other 3D human characters, just a cut-out villain/racist. It gets worse if the author makes some sort of Terminator-esque main character that mindlessly kills others/humans and yet he is supposed to be the hero.
Oh man, the many stories I've read that have that... *Shudders* at that point I stop reading... because it's as if the author is trying to make me feel like shit for actually being a human.
