Video Game Recommendations?
10 years ago
I've been itching for some new games to play, so I'm looking for some suggestions. I have a PC that's great for gaming, and a Nintendo 3DS, but no console. I love Pokemon, and have played all of the main series games; never tried any of the spinoffs though, I'm not sure if they're any good? I also really love open-world RPGs where you have a ton of freedom, such as the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series'. My other favorite is story-based, decision making games such as The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and Heavy Rain.
So, any suggestions? I've thought about getting the new Monster Hunter game, but I've never played any games from that series so I'm not sure XD
FA+

I played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky and it was okay but I've played other games in the "rogue-like" genre and Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon is better. ALTHOUGH I do have two copies of the game (long story) so I could send you one of mine. I'd just need to find something to mail it in because it's cartridge-only.
An interesting hybrid between the open-world and decision-based games you say you like is L.A. Noire. It's super fun and has an awesome story but I'd say the one downside is that it has zero replay value. But man, that story... I was crey.
And then there's also Red Dead Redemption which is made by the dudes who made L.A. Noire which are also the dudes who mane GTA. I still haven't finished it but it's really fun. The best part about the game is riding horses. They've got some of the most intelligent AI I've seen in a video game and their models are so dynamic (rippling muscles while galloping????)
I'm not even sorry that I wrote you a small novel because video games, man...
And I actually bought Read Dead Redemption a couple years ago but never ended up playing it. I bought it for PS3 back when I still lived with my brother and could borrow his, but now I have no console to play it on XD Although I think my new roommate has a PS3 so maybe he'll let me borrow it lol.
What I've really wanted to get is Destiny, but arghhhh there is no PC version ;__;
Thanks for the suggestions!
Well, don't be too disappointed that you don't have a way to play Destiny. Seriously. I preordered a copy and was so excited for the game to come out, especially with how Bungie hyped it up. But it's not very good. You can beat the game in less than 20 hours of gameplay. The story is garbage and unfinished. What little gameplay is there is fun, but the game is so limited everything just turns into a grind, running the same mission over and over to get the good loot even if you fork over the twenty extra dollars to buy the DLC. If you ask me, your money would be better spent just buying the soundtrack because quite honestly that's the best part of the game, and they fired the dude in charge of making it without giving him any reason. As an honest game trailer put it: "It's gaming's hottest 7 out of 10"
And that's interesting, I haven't heard/read that many actual reviews on it, I mostly just heard all the hype prior to its release. It seemed like it would have been a lot of fun.. wasted potential, I suppose. Probably would have been better had it been made for PC ;)
Yeah the game was definitely overhyped. It was absolutely a case of wasted potential. At least if it was made for PC it could be modded.
