Everyone is flipping the fuck out over something they really don't need to be worried about. i mean... there are so many furry art sites to move to... So Furry isnt' owned by IMVU. Go there if you're fucking that worried.

For me it's another "OMFG MICROSOFT BOUGHT MINECRAFT WE"RE DOOOOOOOOOOOMED" situation aaaaalll over again. Someone got pissy claims half ownership and this was done without their permission and blah blah blah [ENTER EPIC DRAMA HERE.] People are freaked out because jo-blow says this..and that and they believe it without even doing research on their own.

I was told/read a few things:

IMVU has shitty customer service
IMVU is greedy (but again what big company isn't)
IMV is a family friendly company.. and all the pronz is gonna disappear and *in deep dark evil voice* NEVER RETURN!!!

(Cue all furries cry nuuuuuu in utter dispair in the pouring rain.)

Meanwhile I'm sitting here rolling my eyes because those 3 things up there describe almost all companies. But the last one really irritated me. Why? Because no family friendly company is going to blindly buy a highly pornographic art site. That would be like sesame street buying Penthouse and turning it into home and decor. Companies don't blindly buy companies to turn away more than 99% of their clientele. It just doesn't make sense.

FA is a place where people share art across the board, from fluff to snuff (although if you're in NSFW mode you'll notice it is MOSTLY snuff). ALSO, despite all the bad shit that's happened before people are still here posting pronz in the name of art. I don't think IMVU is going to come in here and take away all the pronz... or use your art with you first consenting to it.

But Ana... hows you know?

Because FA/IMVU would have to change the T.O.S. first and we'd all have to agree to it!

But.. can't they change it without our knowledge?!

They could... HOWEVER, when I joined FA I agreed to the following statements taken from FA's TOS:

2.1 - Fur Affinity reserves the right to change these documents at any time, without prior notice, and for any reason. You will be notified of these changes via site announcements which will appear below the Fur Affinity site banner artwork. Continued usage of the site after being notified constitutes acceptance and agreement with any changes. You are responsible for reviewing and becoming familiar with and adhering to any modifications to this agreement.

(and most importantly my favorite... part 2 of section 2)

2.2 - We may ask you to review and explicitly agree to a revised version of these terms. In this case, any modifications will be effective at the time of your agreement. If you do not agree, then you are not permitted to use our services and must discontinue using them immediately. In circumstances where you are not asked to explicitly agree, but are instead notified as stated above via site announcement, then the modifications will become effective fourteen (14) days after being announced.

So... in conclusion... sit down.. shut the fuck up.. and art. OR GTFO.
