Tumblr sketch account-- Halp!

I've seen people with Tumblr accounts for the sole purpose of submitting sketches, doodles and WIPs, but I hafta wonder how someone gets traffic to a page where there isn't really much finished artwork.
I upload everything here because I never knew how it would be possible to get views in a sketch account. I have a Tumblr account made, ready to start uploading, and I made it with the intention of uploading stuff like that, but I wanna keep it mostly separate from this account; I may link to the account in my profile someday.
TL:DR I'm curious about how to start attracting views to a new Tumblr sketch account without sharing said account on another site like FA.

Hmm, if that's the case, mind suggesting a few popular tags? What I plan on submitting the most is furry and maybe yiffy, porno-y stuff. Is there a way to see how much traffic some tags get?
The "furry" tag is booming for sure. You can also do "anthro" for similar results. "Yiff" is popular but I would not do "nsfw" as it will do you no favors.
Sadly there is no way to see tag traffic.
