so your sound wouldn't work and your computer is being stupidly slow?

The sound fixed itself when I restarted the computer.

Now it's being ridiculously slow and mostly unresponsive.

how long has it been being slow? since the restart?

1. Got on computer to watch a video.
2. Found out there wasn't any sound.
3. Googled it.
4. Found nothing to help because all the answers pertained to things I didn't have access too (some sort of sound checker and device app)
5. Got frustrated, turned off the computer, turned it back on.
6. Computer seemingly OK, I go about my business watching videos with miraculously working sound.
7. Felt like drawing.
8. Opened up drawing programs, found out the computer wasn't recognizing the pen sensitivity. (That happens often another simple restart should have done the trick!)
9. Restarted the computer.
10. Painfully slow startup. Painfully slow responses. Managed to sit through it and get back on the internet (internet speed was fine once I got the browser window to open) and posedt pics and doodle on my laptop.
11. Before going to bed, I told the computer to update and shutdown (I had 26 updates waiting for me in the 50+ days that I have been letting it collect dust on my shelf).

Day 2:
1. Got on computer.
2. Faced with even slower startup, response time. Computer takes minutes to open anything I click on or doesn't open it at all.

3. Got on here using phone and bitched about it.

OK, a little bit extra. I tried to start it again and log onto my account as quickly as possible and open my browser and connect to the internet. It worked but only if I was fast enough before my whole computer froze. But it only allows me a minute or two before freezing whether I have already opened what I want opened or not. So #10 is like impossible to do.

Okay there are two things that I would try and they are both going to sound incredibly stupid, the first thing you can try is to see if there's more windows updates to fix the previous updates but if that doesn't work, you can try to return your computer to the previous state from before the updates you got last time.

Ok I timed it. 3 minutes for the computer to start up.
Only 40 seconds to stop responding once I managed to get on my account and view my desktop. 40 fucking seconds.
