A thought about shark characters...

OK first off I'm not trying to shit on anyone's OC, this isn't a case of "OMG STOP LEIKING WHUT AH DON'T GHALLL!!!" I've seen a lot of shark chars popping up over the last year or so, and some of 'em are really cool looking, especially the one 
evilart did (Afro-laser shark woo!) but there's one thing about sharks in general that nobody ever seems to bring up: their skin! Shark skin feels is like sand paper, so much in fact that people used to use it AS SANDPAPER!! Not exactly the ideal thing to cuddle up to... Just a thought, nothing more...

I've never actually touched shark skin, but I thought it was smooth one way but rough the other.

This is true, but at the same time I don't think it invalidates my point.

actually it's more than like sand paper, the scales of a shark are extremely tiny wedge shaped scales that are also surprisingly sharp, I've heard of people running their hands the wrong way against a sharks skin and having their hand come away bloody because it essentially cut the top layers of skin
