Things that bug me -RANT-

Just a little rant. Not out of anger or anything but it's just some of my peeves.
One of them is mistaken identity-- and I know that not everyone is totally tuned into animals as much as others but come on:
When you mistake a pitbull for a great dane? A cheetah for a leopard? Or even a cheetah and a LION confused??? Come on dudes...why? there are is such thing as anatomy difference.
or when someone sees a grass snake like; "omg poisonous!" .... really bitch? First of all; the term is "venomous" not "poisonous", YES there is a difference. Second of all; Yes some breeds of snake make it harder to tell between venomous and nonvenomous snakes, but most of the time there are (once again) Anatomy differences! The head, the eyes, even the body sometimes.
ANYWAY back to the dogs. It seriously peeves me when people don't know the difference between a standard, miniature, and a toy dog. Like it isn't that hard to tell? And AGAIN with the mistaken identity in breeds. I know this one dude saw a mastiff and called it a great dane.... sit the fuck down.
---
but my TOP peeve is dog owners that don't know SHIT about dogs and how to treat them.
"I give my dog all the affection it needs and THEN some! It's fed! The vet says it's healthy, WHY is my dog so bad??? sob sob sob i'm going to have to get rid of it or put it down more sobbing blah blah"
again, sit the fuck down. Right now. Dogs ARE NOT humans! They have MUCH different ways and standards. I see so many owners with an out of control dog, and then the dog suffers for their ignorance.
Dogs need shit in this order:: Exercise, discipline, affection. <-- without it, the dog will become VERY unstable. Why? Because then the dog takes on the "pack leader" role and does what ever the fuck it wants, many bites triggered from being over protective of their "pack mate" AKA owner, and has NO respect for your food or your clothing, your furniture or anything else.
If you are not willing to be patient, and take on the calm assertive pack leader role for your dog?? Don't fucking get one.
"But I want a best friend!" "But I want a cuddle partner!" "Oh, but it was so cute! How can I scold it?"
Just fucking don't okay.. a dog needs a pack leader for things to be orderly and peaceful in the house. If not, you will have an unstable dog, and put everyone in danger. No matter your life style, no matter the dog breed, the dog is a dog and needs exercise. It needs to be disciplined, socialized, and THEN you can reward it with petting, food, water, and other good stuff like that. Maybe some more play time if they aren't too tired; throw the ball, play Frisbee, chase eachother, whatever! Just make sure the dog is active.
First off: I've seen this all too much when a dog is out of line-- "SIT!! STAY!! QUIT IT! LAY DOWN! CALM DOWN! GET INSIDE! NO DON'T RUN OUTSIDE! WE'VE HAD THIS TALK BEFORE!"
stop it. This does not work. "Oh but my dog listens very well!"
well dude, hate to break it to ya, but even if the dog DOES sit, or lay down, or roll over on command, that does not make you the "leader" and it does not make you in "control". TO TRULY control a dog, you must control it's MIND; then you get a body/physical reaction.
I see so many fucking cases where they do not know how to walk a dog properly. "But there's no rules! You put on the leash and walk out the door, right?"
WRONG. There's 3 types of BAD dog walkers. 1- the treasure seeker: Dog pulling owner, or is in front. / 2- The tick: You have to stop when another dog or even human possibly is coming your way, wrap the leash around your hand about 40 times and hang on for dear life to the nearest pole or tree. / 3- the pack rat: You look like your going into war, carrying a fuck ton of toys and treats that are their favorite and ready to bribe or distract them with such. "Okay, so what're you in the mood for today? ;u; "
STOP IT. You're doing this horribly wrong.
THEN there's the fact that 90% of dog owners do not realize that the source of the dog's issue is THEM. Dog has 99 problems and the owner is ALL of them.
Such as owners who don't trust their dog, owners who are fearful of their dog or what they MIGHT/COULD do, owners who are nervous or protective over their dog, owners who SPOIL their dog like it's their only child, owners who are perhaps in an unstable relationship triggering the dog to sense disorder among the pack triggering a number of issues, pulling the dog's collar or leash, owners who panic and scream at their dogs, owners who take their dogs for walk but constantly tense, anxious owners, angry owners, and just SO MANY WRONG FUCKING OWNERS I want to PUNCH in the FACE for being so ignorant.
How many people get a puppy, spoil it because it's cute, then slowly stop playing with it or taking it for walks when it gets older? How many people get a dog but don't do shit with it? Example: Inside dogs- many spend their days behind the walls with major lack of activity and lack of socializing. Resulting is very yappy, unstable, possibly dangerous dogs. I hate bad dog owners. I really do. It's my top peeve.

Cat myths
Oh they are basically wild animals" seriously?! What the words feline Domestic doesn't clue you in?
Cats are solitary creatures who don't need much attention"
Yes and that's why stray cats live in colonies, I have Two cats who give me Hugs and I didn't train them to do that. When I got them from the humane society they were so happy to have someone to love that they gave me a hug.
You can't train a cat"
Another load of crap , cats can be trained you just have to do it right
My biggest pet peeve is the reasons people give them up
I can't afford to keep it, " the humane societies offer assistance with costs if you ask for it. If you can afford to feed yourself then you can afford to feed your cat.
"She won't use the litter box". Oh really ? Is it clean? Is I in a high traffic area? Do you to the bathroom with the door wide open? Would you use a filthy bathroom?
" He's a bad cat because he scratched my kid" oh yeah What was your kid doing to the cat ? Trying to dress it up in baby clothes? Holding it the wrong way? Let's pull your arm and see how you react.
When I went to look for a new cat I saw this handsome very cat the sign said he was SPUNKY which is why he was given up to begin with. He was a Kitten!! Usually kittens ARE spunky!
Turns out the cat was a pure breed Nebelung. Most pure breed cost from 500 - 1200$
I adopted this kitty for 160$ and he is spunky but he is also loving affectionate and playful.
Most strays have a short, hard life where they are always fighting, trying to get food and likely being chased away by stupid people who can't see that the animal is looking for someone to love them.
One last thing when a cat is brought to a shelter they are scared , feel abandoned and likely will fall I'll due to the stressful environment. When this happens those cats are marked for euthenasia. All because some human didn't Feel like keeping their cat. Way to be an cold hearted jerk.
Had it not been for humans, the cat and the dog would still be wild and free. The "domestic" animals are simply a man made label, just like the breeds. Why do you think the Dachshund dog originated in Germany? It was originally bred to hunt badgers. See? Man made creation. The domestic dog was made long long ago. So in reality?? Yes, both dogs and cats are just animals labeled to be domestic because HUMANS made them.
as for the reasons people give them up, yes, those are ridiculous reasons. You've told me about the spunky kit. It's truly ridiculous. People are so ignorant and the animals suffer for such. This is why I hate man kind with an eternal fire of PURE hatred.
Also 'but my TOP peeve is dog owners that don't know SHIT about dogs and how to treat them' the same's kinda true for cats, I've been doing work experience in a veterinary practice since November and I've yet to see anyone else give their cat a slow blink every now and again, everyone just stares into their eyes. It's probably a pretty minor thing yes, but it's amazing the difference it can make - once they return the slow blink they feel safe and calm right down. We once had a kitten in who was obviously pretty worried about what was happening and wasn't eating much, I spent some time with them and once they returned that slow blink they relaxed and starting stuffing their face with food from my hand.
Kind of like when someone gives you a funny look or stare at you for like, ever, and you're like "wtf are you staring at"
I hate that too, but it's what people do ya know. Some people do it to try and have a bond, and some people jus want something cute to just forget out when it gets older.
