I'm not a furry per se, I'm actually a therian. What drew me towards things pertaining to the furry fandom is my love to do anthro art. I guess it stems from playing the occasional anthro in a video game. Seemed like the right medium to portray my spirit in neat and fun ways as feral can be limiting at times.

Plus it doesn't hurt that I have a bunch of friends who are furries.

I'm a therian, as you already know, though I did start out as a furry. Initially I got into it through fantasy role-playing chatrooms. I always played a lizardman (based on a Utahraptor dinosaur). That was before I knew about the furry fandom. Through that I eventually got drawn into a furry RP. After a while I began to realize that it just felt right playing an anthropomorphic 'raptor. Then I learned about Therianthropy, and was kinda getting fed up with a lot of the furry rooms I ended up going to (too much sexual stuff, though I know not all furries are like that, I wasn't finding any that weren't). I did some self-exploration and eventually settled on the belief that I'm a therian. I initially thought I was a Utahraptor, but once I started working at the raptor center I realized that I was actually a Golden Eagle. Now I just basically just use my spiritual form to represent myself online. I guess it could be considered a fursona, but it's much more than that.
