Two more!
Today was a good day. Why? Because I got not one, but two acceptance letters!
A fantasy story I originally wrote for the Rainfurrest writing competition last year, "Come the Storm." will be appearing in the Rainfurrest charity anthology! I had to extend the version that won me third place in the competition, and I'll have to do some more modifications for the final edit, but I'm pleased of this! It's a donation that will support this year's charity, so that's rather cool.
And! A story I threw together at high speed for Furplanet's forthcoming noir anthology was accepted. I'm especially thrilled about this one, as noir is kind of right in my wheelhouse writing-wise; I've always credited Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe stories as being a major turning point in how I approach my writing. I also wrote this one really quickly, after scrapping my first attempt, and came out with a rather fun dieselpunk noir piece. It needs a new name since the original apparently gives away the plot, and I have to do some rewrites on this one too, but it's in!
So that's four anthologies I'll be part of this year, along with The Furry Future from earlier in the year and Heat, this summer. Plus I'm still waiting to hear back from Rabbit Valley about my submission for their fur-on-skin anthologies... so another's still hanging.
Man, I wish I had more time to write, with all this!
