Last week, in a pre-budget speech the NS Minister of Finance threatened significant changes to the film and TV tax credit that could devastate the provincial screen industry. This is a community that is deeply entrenched in our province. It is part of our culture. And it is a competitive, vibrant, and successful industry that brings in millions of dollars in foreign investment, employs thousands of people, and is a key contributor to the economy of our province.
Imagine if we had no This Hour Has 22 Minutes, no Trailer Park Boys, no Hope for Wildlife, Book of Negros, Haven, Mr. D, Call Me Fitz, Heartbeat, Bo on the Go, Relative Happiness, Blackbird... Imagine all those jobs lost, all those companies gone, and all those dollars spent elsewhere.
TL/DR -- The funding for the film and Television industry is being cut drastically.. This could be the end of ANY future seasons of Trailer Park Boys if it goes through!!

And it could spell the end of the entertainment industry in Canada.. as all of our most popular series including Trailer Park Boys are from Nova Scotia.. and Nova Scotia is where the funding is planned on being drastically cut from all forms of TV entertainment.
