Mike Smith "Bubbles" Abuse Incident
Hello all,
I've been asked this quite a bit so I thought I would address it here out of character for a bit.. Many furs have asked me under my alternate account as well as on my Facebook page what my thoughts were on the recent incident involving Mike Smith (The actor who portrays Bubbles on Trailer Park Boys) allegedly abusing a woman friend of his in Los Angeles and being arrested by the police.
There are a few things which factor into this, first of all both Mike Smith and his friend deny that there was ever any physical contact between the two of them and that they were simply having a heated argument.. Mike Smith claims he was falsely arrested..
I happen to agree with him on this case.. I have met Mike Smith and he never struck me EVER as an abusive individual especially when it came towards women - I also had the pleasure of being able to meet Mike Smith's parents who accidentally thought I was Mike Smith when I was doing my impersonation in Halifax waaay back in 2007.. I spent a good half hour speaking with them and from what I surmised they were both very kind, caring and supportive individuals and don't seem the type of folks to raise an abusive son..
Some fans have stated that they thought Mike Smith perhaps got drunk and abused his woman friend.. however, I myself do not think this is the case as their was inconclusive evidence in all articles that I read to state that he was under the influence of alcohol.. I think this can be summed up as a misunderstanding.
Long story short, My opinion on this matter is siding with Mike Smith and that I don't believe he physically abused his lady friend despite what the media is claiming.. I hope this matter can be resolved quick and painlessly for all those it negatively involves and that things can return back to normal for the actor.
Now, just because I am siding with this opinion does NOT mean that I condone violence and abuse towards women (or anybody for that matter!) I am basing my opinion on meeting and speaking with Mike and his parents in the past as well as his overall character which doesn't strike me as an abusive man.
Thank you for taking your time in reading this long journal and please if you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them below!
Sincerely,
Jeremy (BUBBLES 8-) )

I completely understand the people who were outside of the bathroom when the argument was happening; I think they did the right thing. If I heard a horrible argument, I'd call the cops. The problem is that the cops ignored the "victim," and arrested Mike. He was released on a $20,000 bail. Holy Hell!
Then there's the whole thing with Lucy. That's a conflicting mess right there. She supposedly quits the show because of this allegation, but the publicist says that she had quit a couple of weeks prior to the incident. The part that gets me the most is that she made a fuss based on that allegation. No evidence, Mike's friend denied anything physical, there were no signs of abuse, nothing. Yet Lucy called Mike an abuser and left. He hasn't even gone to court yet!
You'd think that because her testimony was among the many in the Gomeshi trial that couldn't be used due to conflicting accounts, she'd be more understanding about the importance of evidence. You can't just say shit and expect people to accept it. When it goes under scrutiny, it has to be accurate.
She said that it's "easy" to cut people out of her life if they're an abuser. Yeah. It's pretty easy to just take things at face value, make snap decisions, and not take in any evidence to the contrary. If I were Mike, I'd be seriously hurt. They worked together for over a decade, he supported her during her testimony with the Gomeshi trial, then she turns her back on him before he can even say a word.
This whole incident with Mike Smith has me pissed off. There have been so many cases where reported abuse has turned out not to have happened, or has been an outright lie. Yet people still take it without question.
I never liked her and, quite honestly, find her to be an incredibly stupid woman...
RICKY: "Well.. Lucy fucking left me which is pretty much FUCKED.. I tried doing everything she asked but woke up one night and her and all her belongings were gone .. she left the park.. so nows all I has to do is take care of Trinity, Jacob and their baby by myself.. thank fuck for Sarah being around.."
I'm not saying Mike Smith might have hit her. I'm actually really confident that he didn't. I don't understand why the press is making a big deal out of this when the 'victim' has explicitly said that he did NOT hit her. I really hope this whole situation can get cleared up soon. I think Lucy DeCoutere over-reacted when she quit the show over this. Hopefully she'll come back when all of this is over. : /
Good riddance, I say..
Nobody wants her back.. she burned her bridges just like Mike Jackson (Trevor) burned his... let her rot..
She is a stupid woman and Trailer Park Boys will continue to run just fine without her slutty ass around
And now this incident where all the cast and crew support Mike Smith EXCEPT for Lucy because Lucy knows all apparently... just like she did in the Jian Ghomeshi case..
I actually had her on Facebook as a friend for the longest time but she chose to unfriend me because "I upload too many jokes on my Facebook wall"...
Sorry to offend you, Queen Latifah.. jesus... She seriously has a LOT of growing up to do...
Sorry that I didn't know the entire story! I've been mostlty watching the show (without looking up what's happening with the crew and actors) up until a few months ago. I'm sorry she un-friended you like that. Gosh, that's a really lame reason to stop following someone.
Either way, good riddance to Lucy, to be honest I have been sick of her character since day fucking one considering how she treats Ricky and everybody else, Sarah is starting to get on my nerves now too cause its the same thing.
But yes, I agree with you Lucy was starting to wear rather thin on the show.. her constant whiny and slutty attitude was starting to grate on many people's nerves..
What I really would love, is a love interest for Bubbles, at least for a season, we sorta had one in a movie with the vet girl, id like that.

Suck it, Lucy!
