I'm sorry about these troubles you've run into. Hopefully your teeth are alright now, and I hope your vacation plans aren't too badly set back by this.

This is the same tooth that's been EXTREMELY sensitive to hot and cold for the past 6+ months. It was so bad that even room-temperature anything (water, air...even touching it with my fingers) was enough to send a jolt of pain through my jaw. Not only was it affecting the way I had to eat, but I was full-body spasming in restaurants whenever something touched that side of my mouth, which was embarrassing. =\ When the nerve was dying, I was in such bad pain that I woke up in the middle of the night and seriously considered going to the ER because I thought I had developed an infection inside the cheekbone or something because the pain was so intense and spread through my entire cheekbone to my eyebrow and my ear. Then after a few days, after getting to the point I honestly couldn't function, it just miraculously stopped all at once. I went to the dentist the next day and they did a few tests and decided it was necrotic and would need immediate work to save it and prevent infection from spreading. :C

The plus side of the whole situation though? That tooth has no more nerve, which means no more feeling in it, which means NO MORE PAIN, EVER! :D (Well, in that tooth anyway.) I didn't realize how much it was affecting the way I ate until the pain was gone, and now I'm pretty ecstatic about it! I just can't wait until all the work on it is done. =\ (I'm actually going in for my temporary crown in about an hour and a half from the time I post this, lol :P)

Jesus, that does sound bad. Well, I'm glad things are sorting themselves out now. Fingers crossed you don't have any more such trouble.
