EMERGENCY Fundraiser: Lena's Abscessed Tooth!!! :(
10 years ago
!!UPDATE!! Okay, so I know that I said I would not be posting here anymore but--lets be real here--Weasyl just doesn't get enough traffic for this kind of thing still. :/
So the story is that last Wednesday my mom's dog Lena went into the vet because we noticed a swelling under her right eye. It turned out that the swelling was in fact an abscessed tooth. It also turned out that Lena had several other teeth that needed to be extracted immediately. The procedure cost was estimated at about $1500. And while $1500 is rather expensive, this would not have been as much of a problem had we not just returned from a road trip down to Florida for my grandmother's birthday.
Lena is a very important member of the family and we love her dearly. Although she is 16, aside from the teeth (her vet said this was a common issue with the breed) she is still healthy, active, vocal, happy and (her vet has also said) she has an all-around high quality of life. We don't want for something as easy to treat as this to interfere with her enjoying Her life to its fullest). So we are doing everything within our power to quickly earn this money for her to get the extraction.
If you are interested in helping Lena, you can contribute in the following ways:
1. Spread the word (Especially if you're a Twin Cities local) to your friends and family! 2. Donate http://www.gofundme.com/letlenalive via PayPal or give a donation of some clean, gently-used items, arts and crafts to sell or your time (help for/with the sale) are valuable and helpful as well! :)
THE SALE WILL TAKE PLACE: Next Sat and Sun from 9 am - 4 pm (both days).
PLEASE NOTE ME FOR THE ADDRESS!!!
It's a hell of a goal, but we're aiming for $1500 over the next week (contact me via PM here, on Weasyl or email me at *** beefyrae @ gmail.com *** Or my mom via *** nancerini1 @ yahoo.com *** For more info or to make a donation or to place a custom order (my mom works full time, however, and with this stress may not be able to take orders, but feel free to ask. I, of course, am able.)
And again, if you're a Twin Cities local and would like to stop by or contribute in any way, please PM me for the address and/or spread the word to your other local friends and fam. :)
***FOR SALE*** We will have a handful of gently-used and like-new specialty items, as well as a host of handmade goods such as pottery, yarn crafts, artwork, jewelry, collectibles/vintage, household, outdoor gear AND I will be offering same day (on-the-spot) commissions (sketches, badges, color, inks, portraits, etc) with all earnings going toward the cost of Lena's procedure.
Thank you for your interest and taking the time to read this AND IN ADVANCE; thank you for anything you do or intend to do; it means the world to us. If you're religious or spiritual, please keep my family in your prayers and if not, please wish us luck all the same.
THANK YOU!!!! <3
