I've also enjoyed writing some of the gorier scenes I've had so far and I'm not even half way done with the book so i'm sure those scenes help make it scarier.

well to give my favorite example atm there is a gang in this endless mall (which is basically hell) I call *the propers* who in this hellish place have the most luxury. They have always working showers the *creatures* that live in the mall don't come near their base they have super nice clothes and video games and other luxuries the rest of the gangs only dream of. Well early on I explain how they get their luxuries.

There is a machine that powers all these niceties in the center of their little territory. It's this huge white monolith with 5 little holes on the tops of it. Once a month they have to force 5 people down into those 5 little holes in order to power the machine. And well...lets just say that I spend about a whole paragraph and a half explaining the screams/grinding noises/gore that come out of those holes after they force them in them.

Oh fun. Graphic description can be quite good to paint pictures.

sounds like a good horror book if its that scary. gonna have to read a copy some day
