For those of you using greasemonkey... (Goodbye Sidebar)
            I made a thing. :D

Get greasemonkey, go to that link, click install, say goodbye to the sidebar. Actually puts the submission info back where it belongs, based on the old code for the site. It's not pixel perfect, but it's close. Only works on the classic layout, I'll look into making a version that works on the new site too, perhaps.
Uses a method that will break the minute that the layout is changed again, so I'll try to keep it up to date. Greasemonkey can check for script updates, just right click on the script and click find updates.
Also, tell me if you run into issues here, or report an issue on the page there. :3
Edit: Updated, now works on flash and story pages. Update as described above <3
Edit 2: Updated again. FA made another change to the code that broke the script (as I warned!) It's now fixed.
Edit 3: Last update broke flash and stories again. Hopefully have a more robust script now. Hopefully. Update to version 1.05. :3
Edit 4: Woah that backpedal was pretty hardcore, am I right?
I am shelving this project for now, as it's no longer needed for the classic layout. I will, however, continue to look into making a version of this script that kills the sidebar in the beta layout. And watch this space for fixes for other FA missteps. ;3
Totally appreciate the support of everyone here, and was happy to help everyone out. Watch https://openuserjs.org/users/maloomf9/scripts for new scripts! I have one for picarto that's useful for watching two streams on one widescreen 1080p monitor that I will post eventually. X3

But it doesn't work for Full View. =(
Added it to the includes, update the script. :3
(just right click it in the greasemonkey script list, and find updates, it'll go to 1.01)
Edit: Or maybe I'll just disable it to avoid potential conflicts, now that I think about it...
(And I never did figure out why simply appending the extra formatting buttons to the originals makes the added ones completely disappear now...)
Also been thinking of trying to get the link formatting buttons and color formatting button to pop up a dialog to supply the missing information, rather than just inserting a default value automatically.
DOM editing has functions like "add this thing here" without needing to change the html directly. It's better performing.
I'm a total novice at this, though!

3: ????
4: Profit.
To be honest, I don't have much of anything against the concept of the sidebar if it gets some tweaks (shrinking the sidebar and/or enlarging the default image size so that it feels less off-centre, not allowing the advert to use the same vertical space as the image, keeping it more low-key if they implement the "other images in gallery" thing they've mentioned in the sidebar, using the entirety of the screen's width instead of sticking it all in two padded windows that make it feel cramped), but I'd much rather use the script for the time being, at least, assuming they make it more bearable later on.
Oddly it's only affecting pics, not stories or flash subs.
The info in that thing is sometimes needed though.
Thanks for staying on top of this so far, though.
Have the script installed and running. Also running AdBlock 2.29.
I thought I would let you know. Maybe it is just me!
Since when did Google become Apple?
Edit: Still works for music submissions as well.
I appreciate you working on the Greasemonkey script the whole two days that I used it. XD
Tried this in Chrome using Tampermonkey: No change in layout.
I would be beholden if you made a Chrome-compatible version of this awesome script.
The issue wasn't with chrome, persay, they just changed the layout on me. I'll work on making it more change resistant soon, but in the meantime, all I can offer is quick patches. :3
Hmm... Seems broken again. :/
Tested it in Beta: No-Go other than ad-removal (which already happened with ABP/Ghostery)
I'm glad there is someone in the community who cares about the community's opinion.
Also, color me interested, but it looks like you have a bit of custom styling there.
Yep. I use a modified version of "Furaffinity - Grey Rust" with Stylish. What you see in that image is all part of the normal style, but I tinkered with it to replace the banner and add some blank space at the top to adjust for it (I had to disable the fixed top bar until I did that since it was bugging me so much).
I like the extension enough to use it for a number of other sites (I even wrote my own entire style for TVtropes, which is really something when I have virtually no CSS experience). The annoying thing, though, is when a site changes its layout and it all gets broken.
But I was here and looking at recent submissions for watched people yesterday, and didn't see anything unusual then, either. I guess they added, and removed it, when I wasn't on the site.
