If you still have the memory card with the corrupted images, don't format it.
There are recovery tools that can recovery a good majority of the images. I've had this happen to me, and was able to recover well over 90% of the images I thought were lost.

However, you will have to connect the memory card to your PC in some manner.

The program I've used in the past was "Digital Image Recovery". I placed a copy up in my dropbox folder:

Once the memory card is connected to the PC, you use the application to select the drive letter for that card, and then select some empty folder on another one of your drives, for the recovered files to be copied to. Don't copy them to the memory card, even if it has the space, as that can over-write files not yet recovered.

This is a sector reader program, so it doesn't run super fast, but it has worked for me in the past.

thanks for the help there. i never had anything like that happen before i was putting them into a file i got finished i disconnected the camera and everything went black when i got back on the pc it was all gone and the cards shown up with folders but no photos. it was wierd

Yeah, unfortunately it doesn't always require an obvious action to cause something like this to happen. During the course of the con, I backed up the photos I had been taking to my laptop, like 3 times a day, just to make sure. The memory cards (although usually reliable), are still too unpredictable for me to trust having them as the only copy of photos.

Glad to hear that you got some stuff recovered, but sorry that it's not most of the stuff.

You may want to search online for some other recovery software. The one I use is fairly old now, and there may be something better out there that can work with the card with your con photos.

i cant get my con card but my zoo trip card has got recovered.
