Happy Friday everyone! Apologies for the very late paw-mail today; this morning was just non-stop stuff and it was very hard getting time to finish it up. Normally I have most of it done by Thursday, but yesterday was even worse - botched upgrade to a VSS pair of Cisco Catalyst 6509e's thanks to a bug in their firmware that bricked one of the fibre modules. Non-tech version: Bad code made expensive routers (and 3000+ phones, 200 servers and a variety of other things on campus) go boom. Yay IT work!

Will be attempting some kayaking tomorrow if the weather holds out - it'll be my mate's first return to it since her surgery, also the first time strapping the boats to the new vehicle, so hopefully all goes well.

*Jacobson's organ: The Jacobson's organ is an auxiliary olfactory sense. Snakes use it by tongueflickering,
with the tongue taking up scents and then touching the organ in order to analyze that scent. Greer uses
it for sensing prey, poachers (prey and poachers sometimes are the same) or a nice steak. And for
exploring (his own or others) feet.
* Pit organs: For sensing infrared thermal radiation. Try to hide in the dark, Geer's pits will still spot
your body warmth.
* Tail: Greer can use his thick and muscular tail for constriction/strangulation techniques.

Greer is a character and person I've come to know very well! An anthropomorphic rock python with some very potent feet, Greer's impressive speed and power is often found at work protecting the rare animals of a number of the Earth's Savannahs - and his method of dolling out justice usually involves those big feet of his.

As a character, Greer has four-toed footpaws that are a light cream-white colour on the bottom and transition more to the typical rock python colouring on the tops, with charcoal black toeclaws and talons. Earlier designs of the character had three-toed feet, but from about a year ago forward it's been four toes. The sole has ventral-style plating that runs from side to side, which transitions to a scaled top.

Those toes, and those feet in general, are thickly scented; and very artfully so. Greer and I share a very similar appreciation for scent, in that it must be something carefully nurtured along, aged like a fine wine. As such, he keeps his feet very clean, never letting them get contaminated by exterior influences - just time, and a clean pair of favourite boots or sneakers. ;) They are something loved by his friends, and equally feared by his enemies (... and maybe some friends, heh).

Some questions for Greer:

Q. What is Greer's background/story?

"Greer was born in the Namibian savannah as a feral rock python. When and how he turned into an anthro snake is a bit mysterious, as Greer himself doesn't know anything about it other than "it happened". What can be said is that Greer must have lived as a feral snake for around 10 years and was obviously fully grown up with a size between 9 and 13 ft. He found shelter in a small native's village where he met a female nature conservationist from Germany, which is why he's quite proficient in the German language. He currently works for the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in Kenya, using his snakey skills in the battle against poachery."

Q. What sort of commentary do you prefer on images of him?

"I don't have any preferences. I mean, each comment stands for its own and will tell a lot about the poster, so it's really up to you. Though... if you can keep it clean and friendly, I will simply love you for that."

Q. Greer clearly enjoys forcing his feet upon others, whether for punishment or reward, but how much does he appreciate feet himself?

"A lot, honestly. Greer's really into scent, enjoying the scent of his own or other feet... as long as it's not over the top. He also likes having someone under his feet, feeling his feet being sniffed, warm breath blowing against his soles and toes, all that. That's why he can enoy both: using his feet as "weapons" against his victims as well as having some playful fun with them and someone else. But he's also quite eager to "explore" other's feet as well, sniffing, feeling and massaging them. While he may have quite a "brutish" appearance, one would be surprised how gentle he can be when dealing with feet. At least the above mentioned German nature conservationist, Indra Bachmann, stated that no one ever gave her such a long and soothing foot massage as Greer did."

Q. What sort of feet or footpaws does Greer like best (ie, human female, anthro feline male, etc.)?

"While Greer has a preference for plantigrade anthro footpaws, he can enjoy humanoid feet, too. Gender is unimportant here. If your feet are nice and bare, he will be quite interested in seeing them from a bit (read "much") closer. And if your feet are in some nice boots, sneakers or sneaker-like shoes, it will be a bonus."

Q. Is there anything that Greer is afraid of?

"Loosing his anthropomorphic self. Greer began his life as a feral snake that somehow turned into an anthropomorphic being. With Greer having no idea of how that happened exactly, his biggest fear is that, whatever made him anthro, might happen again... with him suddenly turning feral again. And that's something he absolute doesn't want to happen, as he wouldn't only lose his feet, but also those humans he meanwhile made friends with... and who mean a lot to him."

Q. Why does Greer often wear black t-shirts with metal bands on them?

"That's because I like wearing such shirts in RL, and Greer's shirts always have coverart of albums on them that I do own in RL, too. So by looking at his shirts you know what CDs I have. ; D

Meanwhile I am not even sure anymore whether or not Greer really likes that music. While he would definitely be able to cope with some bands, there's also a lot of stuff I am into where he would definitely just shake his head. I guess that is the RL side within me that often asks "Why the hell am I listening to this?""
