Awesome unappreciated song for a good cause
10 years ago
Before I go away yet again, I want to share something with you guys.
An Alternative band by the name of Trapdoor Social has partnered up with the symphonic/marching band of Mesa Ridge High School, which is located approximately five minutes from my house (a little further now that I'm in an apartment).
Even though I went to Fountain - Fort Carson High, whose band was in strict competition with Mesa Ridge, I still think this is really cool.
Take a listen or five hundred here:
The real significance of this is that Trapdoor Social is trying to raise awareness of the lack of funding for arts/music programs in schools in the US. To at least help Mesa Ridge High School, the band has setup a pledge fund to give 100% of the proceeds to the high school for arts programs. If you pledge at least $5, you will (eventually) get an mp3 download of the song, which I just had to opt into because it doesn't seem to be available ANYWHERE ELSE. Go ahead, check iTunes, Spotify, what have you. The song's not there, only here.
Here's a link to the pledge fund:

I felt the need to share this because, as you can see, the music video only has 15,000 views, which means not enough people are hearing this awesome song or becoming aware of the issue.
Please, enjoy and pitch in for the arts.
