G'day all! Paw-mail before the Victoria Day long weekend in Canada. Weather doesn't look all that great, but hey - a day off is still a good thing).

Apologies again for another late paw-mail too; while I worked at this for more than 2 hours this morning, I got a late start and had a lot of interruptions, then meetings kick in, and it ends up getting later and later. :/

So, a few months ago I mused the idea of possibly having a "favourite" picture link in each paw-mail. I've resisted on the premise that I really don't like picking/playing favourites (hence why I don't have favourites on my account), but then... this list itself is sort of a listing of favourites. I've also had folks suggest that I have such a thing just 'cause it would be interesting. So, starting today, I'm going to have a "Most Pawesome!" section (props to  FuzzyPaws for inventing that word) which will highlight the picture I feel does the best job of being really amazing in terms of nailing the most things paw-sexuals and/or paw-lovers enjoy. And today, that was NO easy task because there are several pictures in this particular Paw-Mail that do just that (and they're all charr-related, go figure). So the way it'll work is that I'll post it at the top of the list after the Legend. Basically, treat it like a "If there is just ONE picture you have to see today, it's this one." kinda thing. And along with the usual description, I'll try to explain why it got the Most Pawesome spot.

I don't have any commissions, cool stuff or fur-in-need to add to this one, so off we go!

Most Pawsome!

Why: Because Charr. Also because this picture really nails a lot of elements of being a pawsexual, great emotional portrayal, and super-accurate character design. BlackChaos does charr astonishingly well, and while not into paws himself, he is VERY good at drawing them. When Sera saw his picture of Aurora, she wanted to see if the owner would be okay with getting a picture of the little blue dragon very happily (and hotly) lost in tasting those huge, smooth pads, and this was the result! So charr-wise, Aurora looks amazing - gorgeous proportion and detail for every part of her, and of course those huge footpaws look incredible. Big shapely toes, and a huge smooth ballpad for Sera's needy tongue to hungrily lap at. Sera herself looks pretty amazing too, and that's another nice charm of this. Her body type is certainly uncharr-like, but BC still nailed it, putting her in a very nice pose that really shows the nice back and her gentle curves, while hinting at her breast, and showing off one of her own extremely nice footpaws. Also nice in the pose is how Aurora is resting her right footpaw over Sera - a very gentle way of holding her, and it adds nicely to the intimacy. Lastly, there's the emotion that really works in this too. Sera is just lost in what she's doing - flushed with colour eyes locked on that smooth, huge pad before her and snout wedged into that warm fur between Aurora's two centre toes. Aurora herself seems to have a bemused smile - partly torn between it maybe tickling a bit, and/or being more of a turn on that she thought it might be. So yeah... this picture just nails it in every way!

Two guys sharing one very sweet moment. Beautiful colouring job on this with great use of lighting, and making the intimacy between the two more of the focus. Of course, there are nice footpaws on both to enjoy... otherwise you might wonder why it's on this list. :P

So... sickbay was empty and there were so many handy monitors and beds at the perfect height... Yeah, this probably happens more than the medical staff are willing to admit. :P A nice view of their footpaws while they mate - love the attention to detail with the lighting on the paws of the male.

1st pic: Heeeee... this is so cute - glass-top tables would be SO much fun if you had a buddy with great looking paws like this guy. :)

2nd pic: Because charr. Loki-charr, to be exact. A simple yet awesome pose to show off those huge, sexy feet of his. I could just see him doing that sorta pose for Muddy as he comes back home after a day of duty. "Oh, hey hun..." And foot-filled awesomeness ensues. :P

Because charr! Another gem from BC, and certainly one of the front-runners for trying to pic a favourite for today. Here we have Muddy-charr enjoying Loki-charr to his fullest (or is busy filling him up anyway, hur hur). You can't help but wonder if this is a few minutes after Muddy walked in to what Loki was doing in the VampireKitty picture above. :3 Again, another very nice paw-pic with Muddy really enjoying one of Loki's feet.

Oh wow... this piece is just breath-taking with how beautiful the setting and colour work is! Very tasteful nudes of the two female characters Nikky and Doni cuddling under the stars. A fellow Canadian and Ontarian, Anyare's beautiful work is fantastic. She draws exceptionally nice paws and puts wonderful emotion into her pictures no matter what the content. :) As per usual, I sent a list of questions to her and she was kind enough to answer all of them! So here we go:

Q. What sort of interest in footpaws do you have (if any)?

"I find them interesting and fun to draw, and people seem to enjoy when I draw them and that makes me happy!"

Q. What type of commentary do you like on your work? What sort of comments do you not like, or don't want (say, creepy comments or whatever)?

"I very much like any comment, no matter how short or simple it is! I like when people take the time to comment as I know it can get very hectic and I don't always get a chance to comment back. I do however prefer "creepy" comments to be kept to themselves because most of my work posted is commission work and I know it can make the commissioners feel uncomfortable."

Q. Do you have anything you'd like to personally say to the folks in the Paw-Mail?

"I hope you enjoy my paw-themed work and I know there will be more coming in the future! :)"

Q. How did you start drawing, and when/where/how did that end up leading you to the furry fandom?

"I've always been interested in drawing and love animals. So naturally I just loved drawing animals and animal characters and it just led me here :D"

Q. Do you have a particular favourite sort of footpaw to draw, and why is that?

"I like drawing canine and feline paws."

Q. Does your interest for footpaws (if you have one, that is), spill over into real life and humans? Explain.

"Not really...I mostly just like drawing them :) I find human feet way more difficult to draw XD"

Q. What is your favourite sort of commission or drawing challenge to get?

"I like when I get the opportunity to draw new things and different environments."

Q. Do you have any sort of advice for anyone who would like to take up drawing (like where to start, or something that is helpful)?

"I would say start with the basics and practice a lot! It takes a lot of dedication and practice to improve!"

Q. Do you have any particular pet-peeves when it comes to drawing or working as an artist?

"Not really! I enjoy doing what I do, working creatively and working to bring other people's ideas to life."
