Nah, this is more of: one day.... long ago, there was a dragon, this dragon flew all over the land, destroying fields and stealing treasure.
Everyone thought the dragon was evil, they told eeveryone else to stay away or fight him off. And every once in a while, he is forced to return ro his den, but nevertheless, he returns.
The people hated the dragon. But one fateful day, a boy from far south came with his family to this new land.
The moment he arrived, he was told of the evil dragon, and all the hateful things he had brought upon the land.
But the boy couldn't be sure, he had to know for sure if the dragon was who they said. So one day, when everyone else was working or going about their lives, the boy trekked to see the mysterious beast.
He moved carefully as he approached the dragons den. He meandered carefully up to the sleek black snout and politely asked, "h-hello" but all he recieved in reply was a grunt, and the dragon swatted him away with his tail.
The boy stared at the dragon for a moment, there was longing in this strange reptiles eyes... but he wasnt sure why.
He soon returned to the village.
A few days later, he discovered that the dragon had burnt one of his newest friends. The boy vowed to slay the dragon, for so cruelly treating his friend.
He returned the next day with a large dagger on his belt. He approched silently and unseen. As he drew his dagger and prepared to thrust it through the dragons heart, the large black reptile murmured "...I missed you..." in dragon speak or "dragonese"
The boy was confused, not sure what to do, was there a whole other side to this dragon? What should he expect? Should he do something?
After a few minutes of contimplation, he tossed the dagger aside to the piles of treasure the dragon had stolen, knelt down next to him, went with the polite approach and said, "I missed you too..."
"As if" replied the obviously distrustful and arrogant dragon.
"I missed you too" (in the dragons native tongue, I forgot to add)
The boy rolled his eyes and continued cheerfully, trying to get to know the dragon. But all he got were grunts and tail lashes. By the end of the day he had been cut several tumes because of the sharp scales scraping across his body at such great speed. And he still couldn't get the dragon to open up...
The young boy continued to return to the dragon, for he was sure there was more to him than this, each day he would go to the dragon kindly and invigorated, and each night he would return bloody, or singed, or even missing some hair. But he would not give up.
He was stubborn, and he wanted to understand tbe dragon, he always had trouble making friends, but he thought thst this dragon could actually be good, if he got to know him.
Luckily for the village, while the boy occupied the dragon, they prospered.
Eventually, after a devious luttle test by the dragons own design, he realized that the boy was kind and true, and would not betray him. It was then thst the boy first touched the dragon, without it trying to bite his hand off.
Over time, the dragon and thw boy became very close, they became the best of friends. And while the dragon will still terrorize the village on occasion, it was obvious that he was not evil. The villagers had wronged him so much, he was just getting some payback.
The boy started sneaking off to see the dragon, and staying in his den for hours on end.
A few times they were caught, and temporarily were withheld from seeing each other, but that did not deter them from secretly meeting
They became, and still are today, the best of friends, each belonging to the other. Forever theirs. John, and Toothless/Sc.
The
End.
