Well, so far at BLFC, my luggage got delayed by AA so I had to pick that up and that took two hours since no one was at claim and they didn't think that getting someon there for multiple customers was important. So I missed both the opening ceremonies and the 'first time' meet and greet. Then forgot my ref sheets and folio in car at KOKC and had to get a new one and missed another meet and greet. These are basically the only two that I could actually attend. More on that later. Finally got ducks in a row, although missed the character development panel.
The other three writing panels did not really help me any. I do not aim to write themes in the fashion that was the 'correct' one and I was at direct odds with presenter the whole time and I do not do fantasy worldbuilding. Other than those four panels, writers were SOL. Unless you want to dance (pretty much all electro/modern dance) the con basically shuts down on senior citizen time. If you know people and are invited to room parties, great. Otherwise...well, between thurs at 1800 and Saturday at 2000, so far I have probably slept 20+ hrs and spent at least another 4 in my room because bored. Half of my electrical outlets barely work and sink stopper does not stay up.
I did buy some art, so not a total waste, but was it worth $1200...not at all. Honestly, I recommend against it for anyone looking for cons unless you are either there with someone or fursuit. I already decided that if I remain in the furry community, (something that is not a given as I got the joy of being called a hater and evil by a furry with absolutely no action on my part... again...heh...furry 'tolerance') I will not be attending any cons that require travel. Just not worth it. I will be at Oklacon 15 (Honestly, probably the best of the three writing tracks) since I already paid and possibly TFF16.
