back when i was doing the collage bit "- radio electronics and digital sytems technologies-" (before furry really became a thing) i was doing vacumm formed masks and things that would later become furry. and everyone i knew in collage at that point was just all over the work, especially the anamatronic stuff i was dabbling in back then :) so yeah can relate.

That's awesome! I haven't told my professors yet, but they really love it when I tell them about my original characters and about the stuff that I do make. ^-^

I saw the journal title and I thought "Oh boy..." thinking it was going to have gone badly, considering the reputation furries tend to have with the general public...but I guess my assumptions were incorrect. XD; (that's what I get for assuming. XP )

I never know how to explain it to people. I always get self-concious...like...what would they think of me for it. I tend to just say, "I draw cartoon animal-people." and leave it at that...cuz I don't know how non-furs would react. And also...how to explain it to my parents? Like...they know I go to cons and stuff, but I think they just think it's for comics/artists/writers in general. (Well, to be fair, one of the cons IS for a broader genre, SciFi/Fantasy, but...yeah)

I think "I draw cartoon animal-people" is a good explanation in itself, haha! And then if listeners are interested in more about the art, stories, or characters you can go from there. ^^

I figure if the general public thinks furries have a bad reputation, we should talk more about it to show that we are indeed not the stereotype. ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH!
