If you use chrome you may need to mess with it to get shockwave flash to work. Usually, if I'm on the wrong website and I don't close it before the crash, it slowly freezes my whole laptop. You can try the steps at this link. I'm not sure if this is a 100% fix for such a scourge, but it should help.

In addition to this, Chrome is going to be ending support in a near-future release. If you plan to use Flash in a web browser, you may want to check out other browsers such as Firefox, Marathon, or Opera.

What do they plan to replace it with? Unless its good and works just as well as adobe flash if not better chrome risks losing many customers.

For the most part, HTML5 has replaced a lot of what already exists that most "consumer" users use. It's more efficient and tends to have less vulnerabilities. They're not going to be allowing Unity or Java plugins in the browser either.

So no customizing? If thats the case they'll likely lose a good number of users.
