Character auctions? Species ideas?

So, character auctions are becoming increasingly popular, and something I'd like to dip my toes into further after the success of my last one.
QUESTION IS, what kind of critters should I do? Species, fashions, features, etc? Would love to get some ideas from those interested! I have some things in mind already, but feedback is always appreciated.
I also thought about offering a "custom character design" auction, as that's a fairly intensive process that I normally do not offer and would be something special and limited.
Thoughts? I mean, aside from those who don't like or understand the appeal of character auctions. I don't really want to get into that discussion right now!

Those would be really neat to see from you, heck the whole character adoption from you sounds fantastic no matter what you plan on doing!!
Sign me up for them cause I have a feeling I'll love whatever you do end up doing!
I personality would say Croc or Alligator since I want one that is pudgy and thick at same time XD
But as general, I would say something uncommon, we definitely need to see some nice variety and difference rather than the same thing over and over~
But, since I see you love monsters, how about something like a hydra? You could also do a monthly theme for designs. Customs are also a good idea.
Anything uncommon is also great! I mean how many river deer characters do you see here lol
