maybe becoming vegetarian? help
So I have a lot of problems staying healthy and you know, not sick. So I was thinking of easing into becoming a vegetarian?
I have a friend that is and she says she feels a lot better than she used to, healthier, she lost weight, and she's generally doing a lot better now. I just don't want to miss my life because I'm stuck being sick all the time.
Plus i really don't eat meat all that much (are atleast not often) and I am okay with getting rid of other foods and such (dairies and eggs)
I wanted to ask for help because currently I know next to nothing about it and I wanted to ask real people instead of just searching the internet. (though I'm doing that too so I don't just rely on a few select people)
So my friend has told me about having to take B-12 and some places she gets food but what else should I know..?

But if you do want to be vegetarian, I suggest just doing some research to see what foods or meals you can whip up to replace the other food's nutrients.
If you get rid of dairies and eggs you are not becoming a vegetarian, you are becoming vegan. You really need dairy and eggs to stay healthy, the problem is you shouldn't have too much dairy. Just balance out your meals and keep track of what you eat. Then you have to make time out of your day to exercise.
Your body needs a routine and needs food and exercise. If you take away something like meat from your diet you are taking away nutrients your body needs to stay healthy. On a primal level, people are meant to hunt and eat other animals. We exercised by hunting the animal.
I was a vegetarian once and I found it to be pretty torturous to see other people happy and eating meat. I felt weak and it really wasn't a good way to live, at least it wasn't for me I mean. In order to stay healthy and happy just stay away from processed foods and eat a balanced meal (look at the food pyramid).
Go to different health websites and it'll give you good tips on this. Hope you figure out something that works for you =]
With the type of vegetarian I will becoming (Lacto-ovo-vegetarian) I am allowed to have dairy products and eggs. But on the other hand I can substitute dairy for other things that also contain calcium. Kale, turnups, and collard greens for example!
Plus being lactose-intolerant, I don't use a lot of dairy products anyways, as I get stomach aches from it.
Plus I'v been exercising lately and know that I will need to continue doing so if I want to become vegetarian, it's really not that hard when I have nothing else to do haha
With what I'm going to be doing, I will have a routine, and as I said before, I can substitute the meat for other things. I can double my intake of iron to keep myself well. I'm also going to be taking a lot of vitamins to help with that
Also.. just saying but I really don't eat meat all that much right now anyways. I just don't care for it.
Well I'm sorry that it didn't work out for you, but I'm happy you're how you want to be now!
And yeah, I'll be using this new pyramid for the diet
I have been! and I will also be talking to my doctor to see what foods I need to focus more on in the beginning and what else I need to do that would help me
Thank you for commenting!
It is true that you DONT need meats to be heathy. That was proved wrong quite awhile ago~
The important thing to remember is to eat a variety of plants! Kale and beans are super great ways to get plenty of protein! (Kale is like the healthy beef!)
So the MOST IMPORTANT thing is to watch that you are eating more then like peas, corn, and carrots xD
Also watch out for too many vitamins. This can become harmful.
OH and hueys has the most AMAZING vegie burger fyi
