Splatoon, you're a kid now, you're a squid now.

A really interesting game where you play as this cute half-child, half-squid, Lovecraftian horror that destroys other Lovecraftian horrors in a ink spewed fight to the death.
Not really, but it's a fun little game nevertheless.
You play as an Inkling, which is a humanoid squid, that can change shape from human to squid. Each for has different powers. As a human you can run, shoot ink and throw grenades. As a squid you can swim very quickly through the ink that you shoot, even climbing walls, and evade enemies sight.
The one player mode is good for getting down the basics, but it's very linear and doesn't offer much replay. Well, unless you buy the Inkling amiibos which activate a challenge mode where you use different weapons to complete one player levels. I know it's a little bullshit. Since most of the game is geared towards multiplayer, I'm concerned once the servers go down how much game will be left. It looks a little bleak since there's no option to play multiplayer offline with bots.
However the multiplayer is where the game really shines. It gets quite intense near the end game where Inklings are scrambling to cover as much as the turf. That's right this game isn't about only killing your enemies, it's about covering as much turf in your teams own colored ink. As you do so you build up to your special super weapons that range from gigantic missile that you can aim anywhere on the map to a device that lets you see all enemies positions on the map including where their hiding, or even letting you changing into a giant squid monster that let's you crush enemies.
After each battle you get experience to level up and money based on how well you did. Afterwards you can go on a shopping spree to buy new shirts, hats and sneakers. Time to get stylish. Or, you could just buy new weapons.
The game is a bit on the casual side but it's really great. If you have a WiiU and good internet, I suggest you think about getting this game.
