I was searching for stuffs like this because I wanted to help my friend with easy understandable tutorials.

this application.. its like photoshop but free? as in if i cancel my photoshop from Creative cloud this i can use instead yea?

Yes. It's also better than photshop for most digital art purposes, but less good for image manipulation because Krita is only ment for digital art. (But then we have gimp for image manipulation which is also free xD)

honestly I dont even use the filters for photoshop. i do my own shading and highlights. fuck photoshop I wanna save that 10 :D

Krita does have the essential filters for drawing tho, like blur, sharpen, adjusting colours / contrast / hue and lots more which are still useful. And if you have any questions or ideas for future tools and/or need help you can go to their irc channel (freenode, #krita) - the devs are super nice people and there's several artists there too ^^

krita is amazing, i just need to spend a bit of time getting used to it x3

it's not that hard, just start working on things with it (like actual work not just random experimenting) - and modify the gui to your preferences as you find things you'd like to have.

ya, my problem is that i've only ever used sai and i know you really enjoy krita but i've never attempted to learn another program

i really should set aside a few hours to figure it out, these tutorials got me interested again

I switched from Sai too, I'd say that's the easiest program to switch over from since krita has every tool & feature sai has. You can modify Krita to have the tools in the same places as Sai, and once you have that done you can move into learning the new features the program provides.

well, i messed with it for a few hours and learning the brushes and options has been really intuitive and awesome

but i can't figure out the more intricate stuff, it's either easy to figure out or impossible x3

like the ruler thing, there's no "tool options" like it says in the last part of the first video (i do have the latest version or krita) and i can't figure out where it is :c

the other stuff i'm sure i can figure out eventually but trying to get the vanishing point option with the ruler has me scratching my head and frustrated

i really wanted to try that out

I don't know but the latest krita may still have two ruler tools which the other one is entirely useless. idk why the other one is there.

You choose the assistant tag when you have your brush tool selected tho. When you already have the perspective grids layed down.

do you see gray boxes instead? Also if you look at the journal from my frontpage FA modifies the videos into links there. It sounds like you don't have flash to play yt videos :P

I have latest flash? I don't even see grey boxes though, its just massive blank areas?

Might be how it displays in your browser then when the videos don't work, did you try going on my front page to view the journal from there to see the videos as links?
