Jurassic World Review (some spoilers)
14 years and what do we get out of it?
THE RETURN TO THE GREAT DINOSAUR FRANCHISE!
In short, I cried, when the original theme started playing, I laughed to the jokes and I cheered along with everyone else in the Cinema when a certain old Dino appeared.
Jurassic World lived up to its hype and my gosh did it deliver, it had some of the troupes and cliches unique to this franchise but surprisingly not all the ones you think.
Director Colin Treverrow did what Spielberg told him to do and that was to make a movie about our relationship with animals today and that's what this film was more of a social commentary about. The film is less about playing God and more about how Greed ultimately destroys things and that is shown in the desire to sponsor dinosaurs and using them for *SPOILER* Military applications *SPOILER*
In the end the end, its mainly a case study on how mistreated animals can turn bad, I never thought of any animal as evil and that holds true to one like the Indominus Rex, where I feel sympathy towards her
Did the film capture the magic of the first, it sort of did, people are so desensitized to Digital Effects like the humans are to seeing Dinosaurs in that universe, but emotionally and adventure wise it did, Digital Effects was very present in this one and I am okay with that and its not because I am a digital effects major but the story and the characters were unaffected by it and that became the focal point as it should always be.
If you had followed the viral sites like I have you would know the entire universe back story and the amount of effort that was put into world building was phenomenal, lets hope that Universal puts money behind a Jurassic World Virtual Reality application for VR toursism
I know for sure I will want to see this movie again, and I know you will too

I do have to say I feel inspired to write some JP fiction after watching it. I'd probably start tonight if I didn't work early in the morning.
*SPOILER* Also, glad to see Rexy back. It's been said she's the same one from the first movie (her scars from the raptors being the giveaway), so she's a bit of an old girl, but she can still kick butt. *SPOILER*
I still wish they'd make a Jurassic World Operation Genesis or something. That game needs a remake or a sequel or something. >_>
and yes, they need to remake Operation Genesis proper for JW
I have to wonder how my Natasha would fair against Indominus rex. Probably not well, but it would be an intense fight, especially if she felt her babies were threatened.
As mentioned, the dinosaurs other than the raptors probably aren't all that smart. Not to sound mean, I'm simply talking realism, so I'm not sure if Rexy would like the I. rex or not. For that matter, even if she did see her as one of her own kind, T. rex was probably solitary, and probably saw her as a threat to her territory. However, I feel she also isn't as unintelligent as a real rex may have been, seeing how she seemingly respected Blue for assisting her, and let her be. That was honestly really cool. The science fan in me got upset a bit, but every other part of me saw that as really cool and touching. Where once Rexy was attacked by raptors, the help may have softened her heart a bit and opened her up to not being a ruthless killer.
Now that I'm off work for the day, I think I'm gonna think up some of my own Jurassic Park story ideas. I've already had a few, I'm just wondering what kind of direction I want to take it. Part of me wants to make them NSFW like my Natasha ones, another wants them to be PG-13. Not fully sure. Maybe both. >.>
I like to think of your Natasha dealing with such a situation, she will probably not care and still be in her paddock
