There were many firsts in America...

Who will save me from low doorposts? ...but ending up in the Emergency Room of a small town wasn't one of them.
So, yesterday my girlfriend found out she lost some objects. The last time she had seen them was before a hike we took in the woods. Now I'm already a bit familiar with that trail, so I said I'd do a quick walk around to see if I could find said objects. The trouble with the place I'm in however, is that it rains a LOT.
The trail has a lot of mud, silt and slippery stones. The latter preferably out of sight, you only find them when you step on them. In my case I stepped onto a hidden stone, almost lost my balance while my right foot was doing all sorts of movements it wasn't supposed to do. Ow.
I made it home, my right foot hurting more and more and I was cranky because I hadn't found what I had been looking for...
Move up n the day a bit, we attended a ceremony at a primary school, my girlfriends son graduated. By that time I was in agony. I couldn't walk anymore. Thankfully I got a couple of Ibuprofens from one of the teachers which helped surprisingly fast, but one thing was clear to me: I needed to see a doctor fast!
So I was driven to the local ER where my foot got examined and X-rayed. The conclusion was inconclusive. All that is clear is I strained my foot and there are no visible cracks. Doesn't mean it's not broken, though.
So here I am I'm cursing myself, 'cause I rented a big Dodge Charger for the week and I probably can't drive the fucking thing because of that damn sore foot!
