Equine ramblings: HID Peripherals
16 years ago
Peripherals. Specifically the Human Interface Device kind. For the non-geek, we call them mice, trackballs, keyboards, cameras, tablets, etc. Something that allows the human to interface with the computer.
Today, I had to wander up to the local Best Buy and snag me a new trackball. No big deal, right?
Wrong!!!
The last time I had to buy one of these things was probably 5 years ago. In that time, the poor thing has seen its fair share of use and abuse. In that time, also, technology has done strange things to mice...and trackballs alike. Now they come with more buttons and functions on them than most keyboards! Oh well. At least I was able to find and replace my old trackball with an exact model.
Yeah, I hear you... "What about cordless!!! It's like uber cool!"
Wrong!!!
1) Batteries are expensive
2) Cordless models have a delay in response time that give it a "mushy" feel in FPS style games.
Anyway...
tl;dr --> new trackball.
