Need advice

I've been having this issue for a while, but, I am stumped on this. I think I'm so used to drawing/outlining my work in black due to having drawn traditionally for the majority of my life. However, I am running into the issue that the colors of my fursona are clashing with the jet black lines. I would not mind working with another color when it comes to outlining..but I am uncertain of what color that would be.
I was wondering if any of you have a possible solution to this issue ;-;

edit: albeit they're always a shade darker for visual reasons
It might not be a favored way, and maybe other people have a better suggestion. But you gotta experiment to find what suits you best, right? Maybe seeing it will give you some ideas :> Save often and play with your art!
and then make a clipped layer on top of the lines only, and use dark colors, or just use a light color and then adjust it so it's not TOO light.
It's a lot quicker than actually picking out colors to draw certain lines. This is one reason I LOVE layers.
you can take major advantage of this :D
